my opinion on;

character in general: As I have said below, Ezreal is a little fuckboy but then you also realize he’s a huge nerd… so… it makes it okay…how they play them: Your Ezreal is actually REALLY charming and endearing even though he’s the nerdiest explorer I’ve ever met in my entire life!! While our thread doesn’t have them fucking up as much as I thought they would (LMAO), they’re actually kinda fricking adorable the way they’re teasing each other and such. Your take on him is so mature compared to most takes I’ve seen and I really appreciate that!!the mun: I don’t talk to you much, but you seem super chill and easygoing!!

overall opinion: Awesome Ezreal, awesome mun. Thank you for helping me expand on Lux and Ezreal’s relationship in a new, quirky way!! Even though I roleplay with other Ezreals, each interaction has remained unique and it’s amazing to see. You’re really cool and thank you for writing with me and being patient as well. :D

21. Over your shoulder

The Lady has been staying at Ezreal’s house, only to visit him since the Institute is no longer intact, and she had missed his presence quite a bit. The two of them have a strange dynamic where they can go hours without talking or can’t go without talking for hours. It is one of those nights where Ezreal and Lux keep to themselves, for he has a few artifacts he wants to study, and she is dying to get through this novel she picked up. He’s made his place at the desk while she herself has become comfortable in one of his plush chairs.

Ezreal’s deft hands fumble with a purple crystal, shuffling it around underneath his magnifying glass. He mumbles to himself before picking up a pen to write down his thoughts every so often, and then repeats this process. Lux can tune him out if she needs to, but… for some reason, she does not want to.

She closes the book with a small clap and watches him, amusement dancing in her irises. She loves the way he pours himself into his work and his passion. She loves the way he spends a countless number of hours studying the world and its creations. She loves the joy and wonder in his eyes, the spark of freedom she wishes existed within her. 

Lux rises from her seat and walks over to him. She peers at the crystal over his shoulder, a smile forming on her face. “I wonder what its reflective properties are.” 

A chuckle escapes Ezreal’s lips as he brings the crystal closer to her. “You can test it if you like.”

She simply shakes her head and sits in the empty chair next to his. “Another time. Tell me what you know.”

His lips curve into that signature smirk and he takes his notebook out to show her his research. “Well, what I found out is that the purple crystal can be found in numerous factions of Runeterra…”

And Lux smiles, wishing that they could simply stay like this always.

Tall, pristine buildings surround her as she roams across the City of Progress. The city itself is beautiful--more bright than she imagined--with its pale architecture, which was trimmed with metallic paints. The streets are donned with crowds of people, but not like Demacia. In Demacia, they blend in more easily; here, they had more than just royal dresses, suits or armor. 

Oh. Right. Best not to get distracted. 

She’s here for a reason. To see the Grandmaster Explorer, the celebrity cartographer who’s mapped most of the world. Her dearest friend. Apparently his residence is a popular tourist attraction.

When she arrives, she finds a rather large house--one that seems out of place in a city. But she smiles at this, because he was always out of place anyway. There seems to be no tourists anxiously waiting around; perhaps he has closed it off today in preparation for her visit? 

A small, gloved hand reaches towards the door and knocks. Her heartbeat quickens and she looks down at the pavement below her feet, telling herself that everything will be alright.

[ She once cared for the jewelry passed down to her by her mother and her aunt Heidi, however due to her sour relationship with her parents she has come to not care for such things anymore. Any friends she once had have left her with nothing of value. The closest thing would be her wand, a gift from one of her instructors in the College of Magic. Even if she doesn’t necessarily need it anymore, she still has some sentimental attachment to it, besides it being habit to use it to direct her powers. ]

Sona smiles and nods to Ezreal, then calmly closes her eyes and listens. She seems rather confident as she does. Finally, someone who doesn’t have as many secrets to hide inside. Seemingly.

✈ — an eye-opening memory

She is thirteen. A few weeks have passed since she was forced from her home by her parents and military officials. Her nights were accompanied with slumped shoulders and red eyes from quiet, heaving sobs. She could not understand how they could do this to her–to just throw her away like she was a tool to be used. She had to prove herself to her city-state and her family.

She is graduating, wearing a navy blue gown and cap. Standing on the stage with a certificate in her hands, she stands besides the dean of the College of Magic and smiles at the crowd. Her parents and Garen are smiling at her; she’s beaming with pride. Luxanna Crownguard is graduating the top of her class, and she loves the attention. This is the same feeling she gets when she walks below the proud Demacian banner alongside her fellow soldiers, when she uses her tact in war plans, when her family and friends praise her. 

This is when she realizes she would do anything for Demacia. This is when she realizes she is who she resented–a Crownguard. To stand tall and fight for justice and fairness. To protect the Lightshields with her life.

This is when she realizes she is never truly free, and that her heart must align with her duty.
