DWC - 31 May - Day 7 - Punish / Infinite
As soon as Mei and Ezryn met, they became fast friends. Perhaps this is because they both come from people who have lived apart from the world for a long time. Or perhaps it's more to do with their energetic, jovial personalities. Since then, they often get together to exchange questions about each other, over a cup of tea.
"So you dracthyrs can fly in sync, like a group of griffin riders in formation. She says with her mouth half-full. "That's something I should see."
"It's more harmonious and disciplined. If you'd like, we're due to give a little demonstration at the Algeth'ar academy the day after tomorrow, in the afternoon. You and the others can come and see." She says enthusiastically. “Guo can come too.”
“With pleasure,” she notes the event in her diary. I'll go and warn the others later."
"Now, what exactly is a Dame de Compagnie? You talk about it a lot, but what is it?"
Mei had expected this question from her.
"It's easy to understand. A lady-in-waiting, is a woman of noble rank or more rarely of low birth." She takes a sip of her tea before resuming. "These women have also received a special education from specialized instructors. They must read, write, master music, the art of conversation... To name but a few."
Ezryn listens attentively, several new questions forming in her mind. Mei intends to answer them as best she can.
"I see. One thing puzzles me, you're quite an educated person. How come you haven't become one?" She asks curiously.
"It's because of my fur," she rolls up her jacket sleeve. More precisely, the color. Not everyone appreciates it."
Although they're tolerant in general, not all Pandaren are. Her answer made Ezryn realize that she shouldn't have asked her question.
"Oh... I'm sorry, I didn't-"
"No." She interrupts her. "It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong. All that happened a long time ago, water under the bridge as they say." She replies to reassure her with a smile.
If she says so, then Ezryn adds no more. She diverts the subject to something else more sympathetic. And Mei happily answers her questions, before asking her some of her own.
