Oh, hey! A bat drawn in October! What could be a more perfect time? Tallon, pictured above, is more specifically a flying fox / fruit bat with 25% vampire bat DNA, therefore he enjoys a well-rounded diet of both fruit and that life-giving crimson. LOVE how this critter came out. Could be because he consists of my favorite colors, but I'm sure I'm not that shallow...

A long pause between submissions, but here we are. December is never the most arty month for me, both in terms of clientele and personal artwork. We're all running around donning gay apparel and trolling ancient yuletide carols after all. Hopefully I'll do better this year.
Ezzatu has given me a fun little assignment: creating a gamerpic of his Skeleton Tarantula persona (SPOODER BUDDIES, RAISE THE ROOF). Good luck on the matches, dude. I hope it'll help you stand out. o7 This was so quick to do and relaxing that I think I'll be opening up another commission option in my shop, which will be icons! Dunno why I didn't do this sooner. This character design was fulfilled for my dear friend, Ezzatu, who has thoughts about swapping his primary wasp persona for a spooder, so here's my stab at it!
(1) Ezzatu has many faces. Maybe some of you have seen his shark and wasp personas that I illustrated for him a while back. As an homage to his heritage, he asked that I design his Amerindian rat persona, which was an awesome project for me since I used to be around rats when my sister owned them - sweet little things. Move aside, wolves. Go home, foxes. Rats are the new big deal.
(2) Never heard of a divine persona, but I think back to the elementary school playground and my coterie and I had a few "Egyptian God" pretend sessions. Coincidentally, I snagged Anubis every time. Heck, he was a monster in my made-up card game at the time. The Egyptian God of the Underworld is, dare I say, a pretty metal character. It was a trip revisiting ancient memories when Ezzatu approached me with an opportunity to re-conceptualize Anubis, except with an appearance more closely associated with an African golden wolf. Canids aren't very common in my gallery, so this was incredibly refreshing, and I learned things!

Ezzatu, with his limitless imagination, approached me with a fresh persona concept, hoping I would enjoy illustrating a dragon. NO QUALMS. Not a lot of dragon projects sail my way, and because of it the details took longer than expected, but I relished every minute creating Zaivren's overlapping scales and icy hues. Christmas dragon?? Christmas dragon!
