Shion's Boy shirt from Chapter 5 of F. Compo

so basically in late december i bought for dirty cheap the complete italian edition of obscure trans manga F Compo which was just lying there in a comicbook shop and it has been the most wild read not only because of the content itself which is 10/10 BUT because on issue n.3 i found in the fanmail of the manga a earth-shattering letter from a trans woman praising F Compo for its overall positive representation of trans lives and then i found out she was actually a super relevant trans activist of the time AND AND her letter apparently touched some readers so much than in later issues there were STILL people in the fanmail talking about the legendary letter of Mirella Izzo and asking for their contacts to be displayed in case she would find them and mail them back and it felt like finding a precious relic from a time long gone where communication was still evolving and not completely synchronous, this game of telephone stretched through time, like, did mirella ever buy the other issues? did she write back to those who asked? did she get to see that her words were valued and loved in this tiny space at the end of a manga made of cheap shitty paper? that they resonated with people? maybe those people were gay or trans themselves, or maybe they were simply shook by the words of mirella, either way it was very moving to witness
Do you know this queer character?

Sora is Transgender and uses he/him pronouns!
The canon LGBT+ character of the day is
Shion Wakanae from Family Compo, who is genderfluid!
Character: Sora Wakanae
From: F•Compo (Family Compo)
Representation: Transgender
Their Importance: While the manga is outdated in a lot of regards (it ran from 1996 to 2000), it shows Sora as how he is: a man and father. There are very few trans male characters, especially trans male characters of color.
While Sora may occasionally get misgendered, he's quick to reinforce the fact that he's a man.
Issues: The issues spread over the entire series. There's casual misgendering and dead-naming, etc. People refer to Sora as "she" and "a woman" and "a mother" as opposed to his proper pronouns and "a father". He's also purposefully outed as trans to the protagonist upon first meeting by having his shirt pulled off to reveal his chest which is very unpleasant to see as a trans reader.
Thanks to @selfconfusion for the write up!
