Hello darling! Two part drabble: love confession and "They're wrong about you." ❤❤❤❤ (May I just add that I autocorrected to "love congestion" so, you know, feel free to use that instead 😬)
(Send me a prompt, if you please?)
Love confession or love congestion? How about both??? Featuring a pitiful Kakashi and a very patient Sakura. It’s very fluffy and warm and comfy. Enjoy, my love!
“Not so Mr. Tough Guy now, are you?” Sakura swapped the lukewarm towel across Kakashi’s forehead for a cool one. “Can you even breathe through that thing?”
“Choo!”
“Oh my god, you baby sneeze. That’s adorable.” She grinned back at the glare that he shot her, patting his arm. “There there, you’ll feel better soon. It’s just a cold.”
Kakashi scrunched his nose to stave off another sneeze. “Are you sure? It feels serious. It feels like I’m gonna die. I can’t breathe.”
Sakura rolled her eyes. “Oh, honey. You can’t breathe because you’re congested and you still insist on wearing that stupid mask.” She got up and set about putting the room to rights. There was a pile of laundry on the chair and papers strewn about the small desk in the corner. “I know you’re the Hokage and all, but you could clean your room once in a while.”
“Well, forgive me for being on the brink of death for the past week.” He turned onto his side, watching her as she flipped through the paperwork and separated it into piles. They haven’t been able to see each other often, their work demanding more time than they had to give, but she always seemed to be there when he needed her regardless.
“Kakashi, you caught the sniffles, calm down.” Sakura glanced up at him, laughing inwardly at the dramatic way he was strewn across the large bed, his mouth agape under his mask as he tried to breathe. “I can’t wait to tell all the kids at the Academy they’re wrong about you. Toughest ninja in the village indeed. Defeated by his own immune system.”
Kakashi cracked open an eye. “You’re cruel, Sakura-chan. You would never.” He coughed weakly and adjusted his position again, flipping onto his stomach and kicking the blankets down to his feet. He stilled for a moment, then looked at her. “Right?”
She leaned against the desk and hummed contemplatively. “I might be able to keep this a secret. If you promise to be a good patient. And that includes keeping the covers on.”
“But it’s hoottttt…” Kakashi whined.
“Then I guess I’ll have plenty of stories to tell to Iruka-sensei’s class later.” Sakura picked the blanket off of the floor and threw it haphazardly over her partner’s sweaty body. She wandered around him to tuck the covers under his body.
He groaned in response. “Well, at least make it sound like I put up a fight, yeah?”
“Absolutely. A deadly virus ravaged your body, which you contracted because you refused to put on a jacket last night.” Sakura patted his bottom through the blanket. “Rest up, Hokage-sama. You have lots and lots of wonderful meetings next week and Naruto might just start a war if you’re not there.”
Kakashi wiggled slightly before resigning to his cocooned fate. “You know as well as I do that I’m far more likely to start a war than Naruto is.”
“That is an excellent point. He’s far more diplomatic than you. However, he’s not ready. We still need you, Strongest Ninja in the village.” She pecked him on the forehead before heading towards the door. “And I expect to see you in that position when I get back. Don’t even try getting up.
“Yes, ma’am.” He whispered. “Bye bye, I love you.”
Sakura froze in her path. It wasn’t exactly the way she expected to hear him confess his true feelings for the first time. By the time she worked up the courage to turn around and look at him, he was fast asleep. She smiled softly and shook her head. Maybe she’d tell him when he awoke.
