Cyberhound of the Baskervilles | dreamingofstags, AU
Arcade had a point when he mentioned the absurdity of having a cybernetic canine as a tag along. But when you were trying to figure out if a non-responsive patient was more fond of dogs than they were of people, a fairly calm, yet slightly glitchy cyberdog was better than nothing. Given the locale and current political situation it was slightly easier for Cal to repay a favour to the King than it was to the NCR anyway.
The doctor hadn't expected Rex to bolt as soon as he'd spotted someone wearing a hat off in the distance. In fact, he was checking the clock on his pip-boy at the time, and was currently trying to find the four-legged ball of wires and frayed nerves. Cal hissed in a breath and skidded to a stop near the first person he saw after a few moments of desperate searching. Well, the first person that he saw that didn't look like they reported back the King. Just in case.
"'Scuse me, have you seen a dog run by here? He's... he's more robot than dog at this point, so he'd probably stick out."
