"Cupcakes"
"Go check if they're ready," You said shoving Sun-young lightly with your shoulder.
"I don't want to, it's warm right here" Sun-young said while giving you puppy eyes.
"Yeah well the entire apartment is gonna be warm if you don't go and turn the oven off."
"Does that seriously sound like a bad idea..?" She asked with a stupid grin.
"Fine," you huffed, sitting up and knocking her head off of your shoulder, "If I take them out, you're not getting any." You threw the blanket on her as you slipped your slippers on and got up.
As you walked to the kitchen you heard quick footsteps then you saw a blob of brown hair flying by, then the squeak of the oven being opened.
"They're ready..!" Sun-young yelled from the kitchen.
You couldn't help but laugh to yourself as you walked into the kitchen to make sure the oven was off, knowing Sun-young, you would probably wake up and see your apartment building in flames.
"Took you about some time to get in here" Sun-young said as she leaned on the counter pretending to put glasses on to try and seem cool, but all in all she looked like a dork, your dork.
You grabbed a tooth pick from the counter, "You're so lame." You said in between a fake cough as you poked one of the cupcakes to make sure they were baked all the way through.
"Wanna say that again..? A little louder this time please." Sun-young hopped on the counter to make sure you could see her.
"Say what..?" You played dumb as you put the cupcake tray in the freezer to cool them off. Then you turned back around to look at her.
"I heard you, you know that right..?"
You shook your head as you continued to play dumb, "Nope, I have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe there's a ghost," You wiggled your fingers in an attempt to "spookify" your words.
Sun-young rolled her eyes as she threw one of the oven mitts at you. "mhm, cause there's certainly a ghost here who sounds exactly like my annoying girlfriend." She hummed and nodded her head, "Yeah seems logical since she's drop dead gorgeous." She smiled cheekily as she winked at you.
"Shut up, you're so lame" You said as you laughed. "Your logic makes no type of sense, dork."
"Well" She hummed as she kicked her feet back and forth happily, "It made you laugh so that's all that matters"
As you opened the freezer to check if the cupcakes cooled down you shook your head, "Park Sun-young, never change." You pulled the cupcake tray back out and placed it on the counter.
You then grabbed the frosting, that Sun-young had brought home earlier, out of the fridge and handed her a butter knife.
"I don't plan on changing unless it means I get to spend more time with you." She spoke in her cheesy romance voice that she often mimicked from the stupid rom-coms Victoria would make the two of you sit through.
You handed her a cupcake from the tray and laughed again, "Shut up and just Frost the damn cupcakes, you adorable dork."
"Yes ma'am, whatever you say miss." She blew a kiss in your direction and did as you asked.
After a few moments in silence as you both frosted the cupcakes Sun-young went to put her knife in the sink then she came back and hugged you tightly as she rested her chin on your shoulder, watching you finish frosting the last cupcake.
You smiled to yourself, then you held the cupcake up to her mouth when you finished frosting it. "Want some..?"
A quick yeah was all you heard before a piece of the cupcake was missing and there was frosting all over Sun-young's mouth.
A satisfied hum and a thumbs up from Sun-young was the only confirmation you needed to know that you managed to complete your grandma's cupcake recipe just the way Sun-young liked it.
