“I don’t know how you’re so good at this,” Davis commented as Caleb explained a math concept to him. For the other man, it seemed so easy, but Davis almost felt like Caleb was speaking another language. At least he was better than Davis’s professor, who wasn’t much of a teacher (or maybe Davis just wasn’t much of a student, at least in math). “I don’t know if I’ll ever understand this stuff,” Davis sighed, running his fingers through his hair and adjusting his glasses. Looking at his new friend, Davis commented, “I wish I had your brain. Even the science stuff seemed easy enough for you to grasp once I explained everything a couple of times.” They had already gone over Caleb’s science work, and now it was time for Caleb to help Davis. But they’d been going at it for awhile now, and Davis was reaching his limit for how long he could study for.
