Rachel’s break has been a bit... lonely. It’s of no one’s fault except her own, because she could have called Finn or... well, Finn to hang out. But since her transfer to Carmel, Rachel supposes she’s been more than a bit spoiled with the near constant promise of Jesse’s presence. Though they don’t share classes, she still sees him between classes and on the rare occasion when she skips out on a lesson to rehearse and sing in the auditorium. Plus, since he’s been living with her and her father, more often than not their mornings and evenings are filled with each other too. She misses him, even if he sends little texts with snippets of his (and Quinn’s) days in Key West, because she also tries not to dwell on the fact that he’s gone too much, that if she had figured out her own feelings, she could potentially be in Quinn’s place right now, that their kiss-that-almost-was last Saturday could have been tangible.
But it wasn’t and they aren’t, and it all just adds to the mixed up, unorganized feelings Rachel just can’t sort out in her mind, so she does the next best thing. It is the equinox after all and isn’t the official start of Spring the most appropriate time for a little cleaning and personal room organization?
She’s knee deep in a pile of warmer weather clothes to replace her current winter wear in the closet back in Akron when the she hears the doorbell. Not expecting anyone and not really wanting to get distracted in the midst of her organization, Rachel initially ignores the chime in favor of folding another two shirts for her pack pile, but then the knocking starts and she gives in, trudging down the steps. Rachel opens the door with a bit of annoyed huff that quickly shifts to a surprised gasp because she certainly didn’t expect to open her door to him.
“Noah...” It only takes a momentary lapse in her manners before she’s stepping aside and inviting him into her home.
