General Notes: Blaine and Benji agree to hang out for the day and get to know one another.
How pathetic was it that Blaine’s fingers fumbled over the buttons of his shirt due to the sweat his hands produced? He mumbled curses under his breath, careful that they weren’t too loud-- though who would have heard it? Trini? It wasn’t as though anyone else lived in the apartment with him other than the dog who obviously did not even understand him. Though, even she seemed to realize the change in routine for the day. Usually Blaine just shuffled around the bland apartment, only going out to walk Trini. He would do some work then sit on the same sunken cushion of his couch-- the only variation being what he did when on said couch. However, today, he finally changed out of one of his newly signature lounge-wear and into his old uniform. The button-up was a size or two too big, falling awkwardly over his stomach, but he did his best to adjust it before throwing on the rest of his clothes.
If only Jaxon could see him now, getting ready to meet up with a new friend, maybe he wouldn’t worry so much. Those who needed help didn’t go off and adventure with other people. He would know. No, he was handling things and meeting up with Benji, a nice guy he met online, a new friend. If Blaine could, he would have mustered up a smug smile right then and there. He needed to forget about the short, heated conversation he had with his cousin the night before, but he couldn’t. It was insulting! It wasn’t as if Blaine was curled up in his bed motionless, he was past that stage. Past the stage of being on auto-pilot, only getting up to use the bathroom, even eating was something he would forget to do just a few months ago. Though, was relearning how to take care of yourself and socializing really worth celebrating? Blaine ignored the little voice in his head that let out a simple ‘no’, the smugness was far more welcoming.
Blaine finished getting ready and sent a text to Benji. ‘Leaving now!’ He left one window open for Trini and glared at the beaming sun before he turned to the dog and gave her one last pat. “See you later, no parties while I’m gone.” God, he was crazy, he really needed a social life now more than ever. He caught his reflection on the dark, TV screen: his hair still needed to get cut, despite what his cousin and a few others had stated and the shirt hung lazily over his belt that was pulled tightly around the waist band of his orange pants. While he didn’t feel or look his best, he knew that it would have to do.
He left the apartment and took the train to Benji’s place. He pulled a small smile on his face, his cheeks aching from the foreign action. He rapped on the door, stepping back right after for it to open. His eyes fell onto the floor and he scuffed his shoe on the pavement as he waited.
