"I am a museum full of art, but you had your eyes shut."
I watched this show called midnight gospel last night, I turned it on because I thought it would be like another adult animation comedy but to my surprise talked about real and serious subjects of life and death and happiness and all kinds of things. *SPOILER ALERT* in the last episode his mom who has been dying of cancer is a guest (it’s an animated podcast) and they go in depth about not only accepting her death but death in general and how for her it made her feel more alive and one with herself in a way, but for duncan made his depressed and unable to handle his emotions. One thing that stuck with me though, was a conversation where he asked her “what would you tell someone going through this kind of heartbreak?” To which she says “ I would tell them to cry” this specific answer opened my eyes a lot because throughout the entire show he’s running from his emotions dealing with his moms soon to be death and his strained relationship with his sister and all these other things (like we all do)and in this one peticular episode she pretty much explains to stop running from these things (ex. Death, unhappiness, crying.) Because in reality it will hit us all at some point in life! We accept happiness with open arms but push away the reality that we are all going to die and the people we love will die as she also says, but we have to accept these things because they are also teachers of life. Crying is just as okay as laughing it’s all emotion it is a way of releasing pain to open your heart for more love! I sincerely hope you guys tune into this show it’s on Netflix but also a real life podcast available on his own website, YouTube and podcast for Apple! It’s called the Duncan Trussell family hour!
