I was looking up some stuff in the Faramir chapters of TTT, and while there’s a lot I like there, there are two interchanges I particularly love:

‘Good night, Captain, my lord,’ he said. ‘You took the chance, sir.’

‘Did I so?’ said Faramir.

‘Yes sir, and showed your quality: the very highest.’

Faramir smiled. ‘A pert servant, Master Samwise. But nay: the praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards.’

‘In the meantime, whomsoever you take under your protection shall be under my protection and under the shield of Gondor. Are you answered?’

Frodo bowed low. ‘I am answered,’ he said, ‘and I place myself at your service, if that is of any worth to one so high and honourable.’

‘It is of great worth,’ said Faramir.

                    And presenting the Pharaoh a mixed of beautiful white lilies, rare blue roses, with other small bite and white flowers. This was so embarrassing, cheeks heated up nicely, as that bouquet as offered, wrapped neatly with a blue ribbon. He was a bit late, yes, finding the blue roses weren’t easy, especially natural ones, and not dye. But… this was a reciprocate of that V A L E N T I N E S ’ day gift he could not find an appropriate gift. lass hoped, this would make it up…

               Flowers may not be enough for a royalty, for now it convey his expression.
