Fabcar 911ME 1995 IMSA GTS-2 Built by Dave Klym's Indianapolis based Fabcar concern for the 1995 IMSA season it flipped the normal Porsche engine/trans configuration. The mid-engine (ME) Zytek injected 3.2 litre flat-6 was mated to a Hewland DGB gearbox, nestled into a bespoke tube frame chassis. The only stock 911 parts were the windscreen and the roof. The result was a very stiff, very light racecar - it needed more than 100kg of ballast to meet the class minimum 905kg (1995lb) weight. IMSA also helped out massaging the rules as well.
