What I use to help stop spot's and combat the side effect of acne:

First I make sure to keep my face as clean as I can during the day, so avoid touching it with my hands to stop the oils from my hands spreading to my face. I know that sounds like a pretty bad tip but it really does help.

Also diet does help but that's something I'll get to in another post. Same with water.

I'll talk about what I use when going though my skin care routine.

So number 1. is make sure I wash my hands and use something to keep all my hair of my face for the whole routine. I would recommend one of the spa headbands as it won't pull at your hair as much as clips. They are easy to get and pretty cheap as well so added bonus.

2. Use a face wash to wash away any make up and just clean your face in general. Even though you have cleaned your hands you still want to limit the amount of times you are touching the face so I recommend some kind of microfiber face cloth, they are extremely soft on the skin but do the work they are meant to.

3. The face wash that I use is either balance me pure skin face wash or huygens organic purifying face wash. I noticed that when I was put on steroids anything with parabens/sulphates in caused a reaction on my skin. So these are the best for me.

4. once all make up has been washed off I use a cleanser or a scrub depending on the day. The scrub I use however does not have large buts in it. I only use things gentle on the skin.

5. Once a week I use a face mask. I don't use peel off face masks as they can be harsh on the skin.

6. I have a night and day moisturizer, that I have used for a few years now and is great for my skin. Even with the change in medication, weather, other products I use, it's perfect for me. it's called dead sea spa magik, super night cream and rich moisturizer.

The toner I use is a lovely rose scented product. Think pink Turkish delight. It's very cool on the skin. You can use your hands to put it on but if you have a small microfiber cloth use that. I don't recommend using cotton pads as they can be rough on the skin.

7. After everything if I feel my skin is slightly dry still, as that has been a side effect since my medication change. I have two oils I use. Both are the same company and can be used all over you face,body and hair.

I have not had bad spots or acne since I begun doing this. While everyone is different and everyone reacts different to medication. I hope there were certain things here that can help you.
