Collaborators: Nobumichi Asai (WOW), Eiji Tanigawa, of TOKYO (http://www.lab.tokyo.jp/), the dancing duo AyaBambi, and the Ishikawa Watanabe Laboratory at the University of Tokyo 

Using real time face tracking and a state of the art 1000 fps projector, the dancing duo AyaBambi has collaborated with WOW, Lab.Tokyo and Ishikawa Watanabe Laboratory to capture the elusive divide between life and death.

Ghost in the Shell x Facial Hacking (Technical details)

For detecting the markers placed on the face, we used my original motion capture system. Recent improvements in the accuracy permitted to use only 3 cameras.

The tracking and rendering of the 3D face were performed by the last version of Face Live Mapper. Tracking algorithms have also been upgraded and only 3 markers are now necessary.

However, even with 3 markers and 3 cameras, the quality of the tracking was more accurate and stable than ever!

Though we did not use shader effect (reflective, water…) this time, we used real-time re-lighting at the end of the video: the position of the [virtual] light can be modified in real-time. That increases realism and gives a better impression of dynamism in the scene.

‘INORI-PRAYER-’ ultra high speed face mapping AyaBambi performance is released

The latest work to utilize real time tracking and face projection mapping using a state of the art 1000 fps projector and ultra high speed sensing, ‘INORI-PRAYER-,’ has been released. This project was born when Nobumichi Asai (WOW) approached collaborators TOKYO (http://www.lab.tokyo.jp/), the dancing duo AyaBambi, and the Ishikawa Watanabe Laboratory at the University of Tokyo.
