Facebook Pushing Users to Share More Personal Updates with New Lists Feature
#Facebook #Lists Feature Starts Rolling Out -- #Xanjero

Only me: Kun du kan se oppdateringen

Facebook not showing All updates of your Friends ? Here's how you can solve the problem
Wondering why you didn't see that image/status from your friend on your News Feed ? Here's the answer:
When the Facebook Smart Lists & Timeline were introduced, these changes affected the News Feed too. Facebook now comes with an option to view 3 types of updates from your friends:
All Updates
Most Updates
Only Important Updates
All Updates - This will be selected automatically if you have listed the friend in your "Close Friends" list. "All Updates" will show you every single update from your friend, including the third-party posts they like/comment, their game updates, etc. Clearly, this is nothing but a headache if your friend is too active on Facebook.
Most Updates - This is selected By Default for all your friends(Except ofcourse your Close Friends) and is the main Culprit why you miss some of the updates from your friends.
Only Important - This includes life-events, photos and popular statuses. Popular Status is a status from your friend which has got many likes and/or comments.
There are 2 ways to solve this problem:
Include the friend in your "Close Friends" List.
Alternative way is: a) Goto your friend's profile. b) Hover your mouse on "Friends" (near Message). This will generate a Drop-down menu under "Friends" c) Click on "Settings" from the Drop Down Menu d) Select the type of updates(All Updates/Most Updates/Only Important) you wish to see.
Yes. I have always felt that the profile would win over the page...in the long run...simply because the profile is personal..which connects the social fabric which powers and makes the social web so engaging. Pages are finally impersonal.
Taking a page out of Twitter's marketing book. Facebook launches lists for subscriptions...
Agency guys...perk up...more work coming your way...so start mapping those influencers and their subscription streams...a 100 marketers are going to descend on you soon for these lists..
To make it a little easy here is a good enough subscription list for the top 100 #tech influencers on Facebook....

How to manage Facebook lists or turn back to the old Facebook
Next to ‘Home’ in the upper right corner click on your user name
That will take you to your profile page
Lower left should be your friends list. Click on ‘Friends’
This should take you to a list of your friends.
Find a friend and click on the box on the right side that says ‘Friends’
A drop down will appear.
You can either assign your friends to the predefined lists or you can create a new list. You will need to assign each friend to your predefined list… a pain but remember this is brought to you by the wonderful folks at Facebook who think they know best ;)
I created a few custom lists depending on set criteria
The people I interact with the most I move that list up to my favorites:
Click on the ‘Facebook’ icon upper left.
There should be two or more headers one says ‘Favorites’ one ‘Lists’
Mouse over the word ‘List’ and you should see ‘More’ to the left of it. Click this
In the middle column of the page you will see a complete list of your lists.
Click on the pencil Icon of the one you want to add to your ‘Favorites’ list
It should present you with two choices. ‘Add to Favorites’ or ‘Always Hide’
Select ‘Add to Favorites’
Your custom made list appears in the ‘Favorites’ list.
You can rearrange your ‘Favorites’ list by mousing over any of the items in the ‘Favorites’ and clicking on the pencil icon.
Choose ‘Rearrange’
This will allow you to order the list however you wish.
Once completed click ‘Done’
Now when you open your Facebook all you have to do is click on the list and Ta Da a little of the old Facebook back.
Or you can learn how to use Google+ they just opened it up to everyone.

How to share Facebook posts with selected friends
Sometimes you want to share Facebook posts only with selected friends. These 9 easy steps will help you create a list and then use that list to show posts to only friends in that list.
First, create a new friend list in Facebook:
1 | Click the 'Friends' tab from the list under your profile pic.
2 | Click the 'Edit Friends' button, in the top right.
3 | Click the '+Create a list' button.
4 | Give your list a unique name.
5 | Select the friends you want included in the list by clicking on them. Then press the 'Create list' button.
6 | You'll now see your new list with the selected Friends in it. Here you can add or edit who's on the list.
Now to create your post, just to your selected friends:
7 | Back on your profile page, write your post/status and click the arrow by the padlock, next to the Share button. Select the 'Customise' option from the drop down list.
8 | In the 'These people' drop down list select the 'Specific people' option. Start typing the name of your list in the box below and select your new list name.
9 | Check that your new named list is selected then click the 'Save setting' button.
Now you're ready to post your update to only your selected friends.
