Expressions

I saw an article today that said that dogs can produce 16 facial expressions. The other thing it noted was that they use more of these expressions when people are looking at them. The suggestion was made - but is still unproven - that possibly the dogs are actually relating to the humans around them as opposed to merely reacting..
