Today, my school was on lockdown, because a suicidal man was across the street. He was pacing around, gun to head, at a little bank that his wife worked at. It just makes me think... What caused all of this? What made him get up, go to his wife's job, and decide to put a gun to his head...Nothing is scarier or more heartbreaking, than seeing someone just lose their sanity like that.. Just let go. For hours. Just crying, screaming, about how you're going to end your life... In front of someone who has lived half of it with you. The mind is a scary place. You can lose yourself, completely lose yourself. So many things can trigger insanity, but really, nothing can truly bring you back. No amount of pills, or time, or love; nothing. They waited hours for him to "surrender", so that they could take him to a mental hospital to be evaluated. A man let go today. Just let himself go, face to face with fear. Publicly. Didn't run away from it, like most of us do. Just let his emotions take over. Coming from a daughter who had to see her mom 'surrender', I will never forget the man that let go.
