Faculty Profile: Wii Fit Trainers
F: “We are the Wii Fit Trainers, and we welcome you to our program!”
M: “We don’t have given names, but our label applies to the both of us - for distinguishing purposes, you can call me the Male Wii Fit Trainer, and my counterpart the Female Wii Fit Trainer - or just ‘WFT-M’ and ‘WFT-F’ for short, respectively!”
F: “Our debut was technically as NPCs, in the Wii Fit exergaming game for the Nintendo Wii in 2007. However, our popularity wouldn’t really take off until I was revealed as a playable character for Super Smash Bros. 4 for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, at E3 on June 11th, 2013. WFT-M would later be revealed as an alternative option for the same character slot as me on October 31st, 2013.”
M: “And she’s never let me live it down ever since. Does she really have to be more popular with the fandom than I do?!”
F: “At least fanartists of a certain nature have had their aim diverted from you thanks to focusing on me. You really should try taking one for the team in the same way that I’ve done!”
M: “We never really did have that much of a personality to begin with, being programmed instructors and the like, but the mun has characterized us as having a bit of a rivalry to make our dynamic a little more interesting. Everything else about us is a mystery - are we cousins? Siblings? Romantic partners? The world may never know. Even our ages, heights, and weights have never been confirmed, which is ironic because our focus at HTI means that body statistics are often critical measurements.”
F: “For the time being, you can use the average heights and weights of men and women in the U.S. as an approximation for our sizes - meaning I would be 5′4″ and 170 pounds, while WFT-M would be a bit taller and heavier, at 5′10″ and 200 pounds.”
M: “Which is entirely muscle, thank you!”
F: “*laughs* As for our personalities, we’re quite similar, and used to be somewhat undefined like other NPC instructors. Ever since Smash Bros. helped define our natures within the fandom, though, we’ve both become cemented as being nurturing, disciplined, and responsible. With that being said, the heat of the Smash metagame has also made us competitive, prideful, and intense. We may get a little overzealous when in the heat of a typical Smash match, but those who’ve gotten to know us also appreciate our caring and understanding sides, and our goal is to keep our peers healthy and, well, fit throughout their time as fighters, heroes, and adventurers. Whether as fighters or as instructors, we constantly strive to help our fellow fighters maintain their peak condition!”
M: “At HTI, we are both clinical associate professors in the Health and Fitness program. Our favorite students have consistently maintained their own self-care as well as a passion for helping others in need. Among the playable muses, these qualities have best been seen thus far in Katara from the Medical Studies program, Nagisa Hazuki from the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Program, and Keith Kogane from the School of Organizational Leadership. As both fighters and support players, all three are regulars in classes from the two of us and have expressed consistent appreciation for our work, demonstrating that you can strive for health and self-care no matter which program you pursue at our institute.”
F: “While the two of us are clinical faculty here at HTI and are willing to participate in RPs involving multiple other muses in this AU, we’re also available for solo RPs on our own shared blog, @fit-2-smash. You are welcome to stop by either that blog or this one to visit us at any time.”
M: “And remember, our office is always open!”
