I couldn’t let Pokémon Day totally slip me by, not for the 30th anniversary. (I mean, it already did, and I missed out on the Mario 40th, but hey, I’m trying!)
The latest chapter introduces a new face joining the ranks for Nidoking and pals, but also more to go over leading up to that and after!

God, I tried so hard to get an update in for Pride Month! I lost count of how many times I was taken away from writing.
But huzzah! A new chapter for FWV has been added and updated the story! It’s about to get very, very much more dramatic than it was before.
Whenever you’re ready, click the link above for the latest! And enjoy!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the
Organization for Transformative Works
Figured I'd try getting this in before Pokémon Day stream started, lol. Won't be home until later on anyway.
Surprise, by the way! I wasn't expecting to get this done on time, but, here we are!
One more new chapter for FWV, which brings it to 3 new ones in 3 months, yay! (That might be a record for recent posting me lol.)
This latest chapter features Nidoking's POV as he tries to recruit some newcomers to his roster. However, they're not exactly new faces...nor are they nice ones!
An excerpt below to get it started...
... ... ...
Pulling from the pool in here may be equally outside of what I had considered in the past as well, but recent events really change what one considers completely.
"This is still absolutely insane," complained Scizor, claws snapped shut and arms folded. "I can't even believe that you're considering this at all, Sire, much less that you're down here."
"He told us that we need unlikely options for handling the Monarchy," reminded Samurott. "This is perhaps as unlikely as we could consider."
"Short of reanimating corpses," muttered Scizor, earning a sharp look from Samurott.
They quieted as we approached the first cell door. Samurott frowned and glanced back to me.
"Do we need to start with this one?" He shook his head. "I don't think he's worth the time, Milord."
"There are rather few of them overall," I noted.
...
"Of course, Milord."
Still hesitating for a moment more, Samurott slowly lifted the key to unlock the cell. He pulled open the door, and Scizor stepped inside first, claws lifted. I entered after him, while Samurott followed, hand on his blade and keeping near the door.
The reddish orange lizard criminal waited inside his cell, sitting on his cot. He pushed back his pale hood, which…I believe was made from his old skin. His eyelids drooped, and I believed we disturbed his slumber. His eyes caught onto me rather quickly, and they widened a moment, but lowered back to normal right after.
"His Majesty coming to visit me himself, huh?" Scrafty scoffed; the mocking reverence to his tone wasn't lost on me. "To what do I owe such a great reward as this?"
"Call it an opportunity," I offered. "You're here for a rather long list of crimes, but especially for your latest, which would be attacking my knights in the forest last year."
"Almost two by this point," specified Scrafty. He rolled his eyes. "Feels like it's been ten years in this place, though."
"Then I would imagine you'd be delighted for a chance to leave."
My words hung over him as his eyes widened again, and stayed that way for a moment. He clenched his teeth, grinding them for a moment, but then relaxed his body, leaning back on the cot.
"What's the catch?"
... ... ...
It's a lengthy chapter, so I had to do a small skip to help get to a juicy segment. (There are a few, but that's the first one, lol.)
Nidoking seems to be seeking aid from some criminals that slighted his kingdom knights in the past...is that a good idea? And will they even want to help them now?
Read on to see some answers to those questions, or to learn about the direction they might be going!
If you're new to this story, feel free to read from the start and join in! There's plenty to experience, whether you start with only this story, or from the beginning of the first two.

Ok, time for the first of the better postings.
Pokemon fanfic readers! This is the first chapter for the next part of the Bluebells saga, Fading Wind Violets! It picks up shortly after the previous story, Melting Gelid Roses, as the next part of the story sets the new stage.
Like the other stories, it’ll be a romance/drama mix in a fantasy medieval setting. It follows Greninja and Chesnaught’s story mainly, but this story will change the formula and expand the depth of the cast.
Haven’t got much more to add than that, since the Author Notes cover the rest, so, excerpt is below!
...
Early as it was, we hadn't the time to rest. There was plenty of work to do, after what we had been through.
The castle walls were relatively quiet at this time, as the others were asleep, training, or working. Naturally, though I blazed through the halls, my allies were not quite as quick to keep up. And, of course, we would come across someone that would busy themselves right into the way.
"Wait, sir, or sirs, where are you going?" The butler retainer tried chasing after us, keeping pace with our entourage. "This is highly irregular behavior, even for you!"
"Well, we've been through several layers of hell, and not much time to waste by this point," I snapped. "Complain and protest as you like, Mister Indeedee, but we have much to get to. And you will not be the one to stop us."
"Shall I fetch someone more capable, then?" He dashed in front of me, lifting a hand that pulsed with a spell. "Or are you quite certain that you can handle me?"
"There is but one of you." I folded my arms, still not breaking pace. "After what we've been through, we're far from frightened to fight you."
Hesitating as he backed along the corridor, Indeedee lowered his hand. There wasn't a chance he would have against us, and he knew this. Still, he remained alongside us, refusing to leave our side.
Loyalty keeps him, but I held no such restraints. Not to anyone here, at any rate.
"Just so we're clear and it's understood that you'll be interrupting," Mister Indeedee started up again, "you do realize there is much going on at this time, and that we're all quite busy, yes?"
"Do you think I care?"
"You? No." He glanced over his shoulder. "Them? I'm hoping."
"Unfortunately, we're all just a tad miffed from what's happened."
"Very well." And he offered no more protests.
The doors waited at the end, but I wasn't at all patient like it. Twisting my arms and rotating my hands past one another, a small breeze picked up between them. I forced my palm forward and the wind rushed ahead, blasting the doors open to outside.
Storming out, I glared ahead at the lot before me. The blue dragon with the stony red face had fumbled a few maps around, and he tilted his head at my harsh appearance. His scaly superior centered herself, slamming and shaking her tail with a threatening ring from it. She narrowed her gaze as she lifted her fists, blocking my way to the last, and the one that I was here for.
"That won't be necessary, General Kommo-o."
The taller green lizard behind her merely lifted her arm, still gazing out at the mountains further down and her lands below, as the general only partially lowered her fists. She glanced back to her, still keeping herself between us.
...
It’s the Mountains Monarchy...! This is their homeland’s debut.

Surprise, it’s the alternate link’s proper posting!
This will be the third of four installments for the Bluebells saga. It continues the events that Greninja and Chesnaught are part of, as their romance descends into the mystery and war of the kingdoms around them.
This story will take a wider scope though, which you’ll understand by reading this chapter. (Explaining here spoils the fun while reading the first chapter, even for veteran readers!) So, it’ll be a big and slow project, but hopefully fun!
Anyway, not much else for me to add. The excerpt below is a bit of a spoiler for this chapter, so, read at your risk! And enjoy.
...
It has been quite some time since I've personally ventured out this way. Normally, I rely on mere messages to get the job done and keep up communication.
But I don't suppose I could keep away forever.
Making our way through the flowery paths within the deep Kakalaioa Forest, the five of us carried along for the meeting. It wasn't a large group of us, so hopefully it would not come across as something too bold.
Rhydon and I led the way, having been here several years back. Marchioness Tsareena would probably be more comfortable with him than I; perhaps any should these days, and rightfully so. My General is the best of them all…though, as his fiancé, I may be a tad biased.
Lilligant took up the middle, with Gardevoir and Heracross trailing just behind her. Perhaps it was either the right amount or just a touch excessive; truly, I wasn't certain how on edge Tsareena remained around me. It would be Lilligant who would help Rhydon and I appeal to Tsareena, as she has a softer spot for floral folk and for ladies. Hence Gardevoir as the main reinforcement, should perhaps a magic touch extra be required; less an insult to have her. As he already travels out to deliver messages, Heracross seemed the ideal choice among the knights to bring as guard for the ladies; Rhydon had me covered plenty.
Hostilities hopefully would not be necessary.
In the forest's clearing at the western most end, one dressed as a throne room itself, we arrived at Tsareena's court, teeming with plants including yellow hibiscus, mangosteen, and naupaka flowers. Her devout retinue delivered sharp glares at our mere arrival, twisting from their positions around the area to face inward. Vines twitched, bushes shuddered, and eyes narrowed.
…I may have been too hopeful after all.
"His Highness Nidoking has arrived, My Lady," came the bitter announcement from one of her subjects, a lady quite literally covered in blue vines.
"Thank you, Tangrowth." Oh dear. That lofty voice could only be her.
Brushing aside a curtain of ivy from the grand tree, Marchioness Tsareena stepped out.
...
Ohoho, guess who took on the perspective for this chapter?
Nidoking has a somewhat more prominent role for this story, which will make sense as the story develops. (Though, it shouldn’t be a surprise, considering that his background provides big plot elements.)
Hopefully, there are a few more surprises that you can enjoy in the chapter above! And if you’re new to the series, click the links below for the other two installments:
Ok, I was debating on when to release the next Pokemon fanfic story, since I finished the first chapter, and while I was goofing around, I noticed a pattern that was coincidentally happening with the days and months on most versions.
Each one has a number “2” involved with the original publish and completion dates, barring the MGR port to AO3 (technically not the story’s original date).
So, I thought that was cute, with "2" in dates, besides the year! (Each month or day for the story involves that number.) Main pair is a couple, so it's 2 for them. “Two” rhymes with "blue," which is the color symbolism for each flower. And now that I know there’s a pattern, I can’t not follow it!
Therefore, the release date for Fading Wind Violets will be Saturday, June 12th, to coincide with the other stories. And, unlike the first two, this will be the same start date for both FFN and AO3 versions!
For the word count without the author notes, it’s already clocking in at 7k, so, it’s a fairly sizeable read to start. I’ll be aiming to get the 2nd chapter done over the summer, but as always, no promises.
That’s all until later. I hope you’re looking forward to it!

The latest of the Bluebells series has begun!
I’ll give this another post later, but for now, the latest is here!
Since the title was selected as “Fading Wind Violets” for the sequel, I figured now would be a good time to finally reveal the remaining Pokemon that I originally intended on being in the story. There are others not on this list that I left off since I wanted them to be surprises. (Including one in particular would be a dead giveaway to a major plot point.)
While there are more coming besides the ones that will be listed here, these were the characters planned further out in advance. Not everyone included here will have a major role either; some are just going to have key roles to fulfill. Others, like Tyranitar, are major inclusions coming in.
Some characters that were previously included in the stories in minor roles will also be getting bigger roles to play, at least somewhat stronger than their previous appearances.
This doesn’t include knights that slipped from the limelight, but characters like Escavalier and Scizor will also have more to do. Rather, this is for those who seemed not very important, but now will matter.
Characters Getting Role Expansions:
Sceptile
Scyther
Hypno
Lopunny
Nidoqueen
Not all of their increased roles will be equal, but they are characters that will have some more involvement. (For example, Nidoqueen is still dead, but she’ll have new information added about her.)
Also, some definite Galar additions below, though these will not include everyone that I’m using either. These are just the few that I was originally planning on and certain of including beforehand.
Galar Recruits:
Inteleon
Rillaboom
Cinderace
Obstagoon
Corviknight
Toxtricity
Indeedee
Sirfetch’d
These will be the last inclusions for the update, since the story will be starting up at some point later this year.
So, keep an eye out for the next part of the Bluebells saga!
Like last time, I will treat folks to small character blurbs on the upcoming cast from above.
Toxtricity - Aspiring musician that loves the music from the Shining Summit orchestra knights. He’s hoping to join at least their band, but wonders about becoming a knight too.
Salazzle - Mage from the Deserts Domain. She’s currently tasked with raising a new recruit, Heliolisk. Though she comes across flirty and a sharp exterior, it seems to belie troubles in her heart.
Indeedee - Retainer and servant to Queen Tyranitar. Dutiful and willing to accomplish any task given by the queen, though has some tasks swiped by the general, which can cause confusion and even frustration.
Scyther - Younger brother to Scizor, one of the Grass Fields Knights. After being jailed, he’s become quite cooperative and willing with demands, annoying Scizor. He’s left good impressions on Samurott and King Nidoking.
Azumarill - Villager living in the Grass Fields Kingdom territory. She sometimes uses magic to help with chores, but mostly seeks a simple life, living happily with her husband and children. Misses her eldest child terribly.
Incineroar - Part of the brawling performers from the Mountains Monarchy, though his passions lie elsewhere. Can be a playful foil to more serious types, including Hawlucha and his good friend. Fairly flirty and loves nicknames.
Vileplume - Citizen of the Grass Fields Kingdom. Quiet and tries not to draw attention to herself. Rumored to have known about Queen Nidoqueen in the past, but speaks little of it.
Feraligatr - Member of the Mountains Monarchy orchestra, the Shining Summit players. Friendly and charming, he unknowingly has two of his friends vying for his heart and affections. Unexpectedly agile.
That’s all for now. Look forward to these characters and more for the upcoming story, “Fading Wind Violets,” the third installment of the Bluebells stories.
