Thanks anon!
Empty Promises
CW: Manipulation, fae, me not really knowing anything about fae and making up my own crap, manipulative Deceit, treating humans like pets
Pairings: Platonic(?) Loceit
Summary: Logan is in debt, and he can't seem to get out of it.
---
Logan felt absolutely awful.
Not physically, though. He was actually rather healthy and held up an effective exercise regiment. He didn't often indulge in snack foods or anything with an over-abundance of sugar.
No, Logan felt awful mentally.
It was almost like his mind had run a marathon, even though there was no logical way for such a thing to happen.
But Logan's life didn't seem very logical anymore.
In a twisted and mostly-Roman's-fault turn of events, he found himself in debt to a faerie, or "one of the fair folk" as the fae in question asked to be referred to.
This fae, who's apparent name was Dee, had many demands for him, taking advantage of Logan's debt to him.
The first thing was, of course, to let him into his home. His doorknob was iron and he had rowan growing in his garden, so it was understandably difficult.
The second thing was to dispose of his iron and salt. All of it. So he was completely vulnerable.
The third thing, strangely enough, was a kiss. Not in a romantic sense, Dee had assured him, simply for his own pleasure. Later Dee had explained that it was to mark him.
One day, Logan had enough.
"I fulfilled my promise!" he shouted, waving his arms as if to annunciate his point. "I gave you exactly what you asked for!"
"Yes, you did," Dee admitted, looking around Logan's floor. "But, there is still one last thing you must do to pay your debt to me."
"And what is that?" Logan asked through gritted teeth.
"Tell me your true name."
"You cannot demand that of me."
"Can't I?"
Logan felt the words forcing their way up his throat, even as he tried to push them down.
"Logan Thomas Wren."
Dee smirked, grabbing Logan's hand. "Your debt is paid. But I find myself lonely in the forest. Would you care to accompany me?"
"I...I can't."
"Yes you can, Logan Thomas Wren, you will come with me. And we will live in the forest together."
Logan's mind still raced, despite his body growing sluggish.
"You don't have to think anymore."
Logan's mind grew foggy and hazy.
"You don't have to fight or hurt anymore."
Logan felt himself fall slightly, Dee's arms catching him.
"Logan Thomas Wren, come to the forest to live with me."
Dee let go of Logan, and Logan stood up straight, eyes glassy and unfocused.
And they walked out together.
WOAH? FAE DECIET?? Tell me more :0!!!
The Unseelie little rascal, if you think Fae Paton is mischievous, than Deceit is twice as much. His favourite hobbies are turning milk sour and getting songs stuck in people’s heads.
