Can you talk more about your fae!King au? Is Gold still alive? What does King think of Purple throughout the au? Does Purple fear the fae? Are there the typical fae rules here (like, only speak truth, burned by iron, never give away name, etc.) or more or less? What flowers makes up King's antlers? Sorry for all the questions bfncbxv ;;

No need to apologize! I am incredibly excited to answer questions about any of my AUs!

1. Is Gold still alive?

Gold is probably still alive? I have few ideas floating around as to what exactly happened to him.

2. What does King think of Purple as the AU progresses?

Initially, King thinks of Violet as an annoyance - Violet has warded their camp well and there’s not much King can do about them being in the forest. But they do wind up talking a bit, because Violet is also intriguing… how did they learn wards etc. Eventually through talking King learns the Violet knew Marigold, and they start trying to figure out what happened to the Prince. On their quest for Marigold true names are revealed as are many other secrets besides. By the end of the story, King has adopted Purple.

3. Does Purple fear the fae?

Nope, he’s actually friends with a few fae before he ever met King (including Gold).

4. What are the fae rules?

The fae can lie but most humans believe that they can’t and they usually don’t amongst their own kind. Iron doesn’t burn to handle, but iron weapons pack a punch and the damage they cause is difficult to heal from. A fae knowing your true name does give them an amount of power over you - this is true in reverse - if you know a fae’s true name you have an amount of control over them as well. The exchanging of names among fae is the equivalent of a marriage proposal. Or family of some sort, a childhood friend might also know a fae’s true name, and King knows the true names of all his subjects, though only 2 living (?) fae know his name - Terracotta, his aide and Gold. His partner Banana knew it as well. Rumour has it that King’s name is actually somewhat embarrassing.

5. What are King’s antlers?

In spring, they’re apple blossoms, in summer they’re magnolia, in fall they’re birch and in winter they’re holly.

Catching up on the days Ive missed of @writeblrs Peter Pan prompts..

Relationship: Eric Derekson/King of the Squirrels (Could be taken as platonic or romantic)

“C’mon, Eric! It’s not that much farther from here!”

King’s laughter echoed through the forest as he lead the shorter ego through the trees and foliage, obviously walking with a purpose.

Eric, on the other hand, was nervous and stumbling a bit as he walked, wringing his handkerchief in his hands. He wasn’t exactly sure where King was taking him.. he just.. had to trust that the older knew where they were going!

..Well. Older. Only physically, really; King may be, physically, twenty-three, but if Eric remembered properly, Dark had actually pegged him to be closer to thirteen — not that anyone could blame him! It’s not as if its easy to develop and learn properly when you’re all alone like that..

“Eric! You listening?”

He jumps harshly, a small gasp leaving him as he stops in his tracks to look up at King. “U-Um.. y-yeah! I’m l-list-tening!”

King went quiet for a moment, obviously not really believing that before he just seems to shrug it off, a bit of a strange glint in his eyes as he nods. “Well.. w-we’re almost there! Not too long now!” He says brightly, closing his eyes before he turns ahead.

“O-Oh?” Eric squeaks a bit, rubbing his arm nervously as he moves up to walk next to King; more just to keep himself from getting lost, rather than anything else.

King just nods again, grinning down at Eric for a moment before he looks forward again.

They both walked in silence for a few minutes longer until King stops, holding one arm out to stop Eric — a soft yelp leaving the other when he ran into King’s arm.

Eric looks up at him for a moment, seeming confused before King just waves ahead. “Look!”

He hesitates a bit, nodding slowly before he, indeed, turns his gaze ahead; his expression quickly turning to one of sheer.. amazement.

The area in front of them was.. nothing short of beautiful, honestly.

It was a fairly large clearing in the trees, with a small hill; carrying a river that feeds into a pond in the middle of it, surrounded by flowers and bushes, a few rocks and small logs here and there and sunlight streaming through the few trees that were there.

Honestly, it looked like something out of a fairytale.

King seems to smile proudly as he goes into the clearing, turning on his heels to face Eric.

The latter stayed still for a few moments before he finally follows him, the smallest hint of a smile on his face as he looks up at King. “What’s this..?”

King just seems to smile wider at that, the shine in his eyes only growing more prominent. “Just a lil’ spot I like to hang out! And where our little adventure led!” He says happily, a bright giggle leaving him before he goes over to the edge of the pond; barely a moment of hesitation crossing him before he sits down, letting his bare feet rest in the water as he kicks absently.

Eric smiles a little more himself, adjusting his glasses as he felt his face turn a little red. After a bit, he follows King over, sitting down a few inches away and crossing his legs as he looks down at the water.

It looked.. honestly clearer than any water he’d ever seen, small bits of plants growing in the dirt; and he swore he saw a few small fish under the surface of the water..!

“T-This is.. really.. r-really.. pr— pretty, K-King..” He says softly, a little bit of confusion crossing him when there’s no reply.

“..King?”

Still no reply. Was he okay..?

“King?”

Eric huffs a bit when he’s still met with silence, looking up to see what in the world King was doing.

Though, he stops very quickly; King was simply.. sitting there. Almost basking in the sunlight.

He was leaned back a little on his hands, still absently kicking his feet in the water, with his face tilted up towards the sky and eyes closed.

He almost looked blissful, focused on nothing more besides the nature around him; and Eric swore that, when King moved just a certain way, he could almost see sunlight catch on what he could only make out to be wings, fluttering lightly on his back and sparkling slightly in the sunlight.

What type of magic does fae au Purple know?

Are the CG in this au?

Not as much as he’d like to - he can make plants bloom, grow and bare fruit. He can cast some minor illusions, light small fires, throw his voice and make water freeze. Most of that was taught by Gold. The wards that prevent King from entering the campsite were taught to him by Orchid, she was worried what other fae might do to her child. Human-fae are rare and usually aren’t looked on favourably by fae.

The CG would probably turn up later on King’s quest to find Gold, but I don’t have any solid ideas about them yet.

Purple knew Gold before?? How did they meet???

I think I remember you said King tried to scare Purple off—how?

After Orchid died, Purple became a bit of a wandering merchant, gathering herbs and fruits from the forests that others are too afraid to venture that deep into.

Gold liked to hang around villages, and Gold could tell immediately that Purp wasn’t fully human. Gold helped him with his magic and was fascinated that humans and fae could reproduce together.

King attempted to use illusions to make the forest appear darker, more ominous and silence the creatures, make himself appear massive.

Purple could see through the illusions though so… didn’t really work. King assumed that Purple has a device that allows some kind of truesight.

Where is/how is Cobolt in this au? I assume that's why Purple's hiding out in the forest, why are they a threat? Are they a threat? Does anyone else know Purple's true name? If they're half-fae, could a normal human use it against them?

Cobalt is somewhere - he could definitely become an active antagonist down the line potentially.

Purple sometimes gets run out of some towns - even had mercenaries come after him before. He’s an occasional scammer - he’s been known to use his magic to change the visual value of his coins (ex. he hands off a copper piece disguised as a gold piece).

So, Purple’s birth name was Violet - but that hasn’t been his name since after Cobalt left. Violet is his deadname and his true name is Purple.

Yes, a normal human and or a fae could use Purple’s true name to control him. He was a very obedient little girl as Violet. But he knows better now so he usually introduces himself as Violet.

Does fae King ever find out that Purple is half-fae?

Yes, eventually. He actually felt a little betrayed - they’d been travelling together for a while before King found out.

Sky, another one of Purple’s fae friends (and one of the other fae teaching Purple magic, but not one of King’s subjects) accidentally revealed Purple. They assumed King already knew.

I like how purple first meeting king was like ‘yeah nope this is fine this guy is not a threat’

Purple knew that King could be a threat, he was just very confident in the wards and protections his mom taught him.

What's Orchid and Gold like in the fae au? ...What's RB like in the fae au? Will King ever meet them? What's Purple's past like, if it's ok to ask?

Orchid (Sakura is her false name) was a kind fae lady from a different kingdom than King’s. She loved helping flowers to bloom in the spring (she sometimes got so excited that she might make one or two bloom a little early). She met Cobalt by chance, she often liked to spend time with humans. They fell in love and at Sakura’s insistence ran far away from Orchid’s kingdom and settled near King’s. Had Violet, a lovely little half-fae girl. Cobalt didn’t realize Sakura was a fae until Violet started to show signs of magic.

The discovery of that and the fear he’d been enchanted and manipulated made him force Orchid to give up her true name in return, which he used to curse her and then he left. Violet never knew what happened exactly and has always thought it was their fault their father left. Orchid never told Violet the whole truth of what happened before the curse killed her, she didn’t want Violet to see their father as cruel. She did tell them about their nature as a half-fae but didn’t have time to teach them about their magic.

Gold was a spoiled little Prince who never really took his responsibilities seriously (when your father’s basically an immortal King you can afford to be a little immature). He had always found humans fascinating and often visited villages disguised as a human. He always liked helping others, no matter who needed it and was always too trusting.
