I imagine the Creme Republic in COB is generally super racist towards spice cookies- especially Custard Cookie, who REALLY wants 'To rescue the treasures of the old Golden Cheese Kingdom from the hands of those savages!' The Republic has sent multiple 'expeditions' (read: small armies) to try and gain access, but they've all been trounced by Warming Spice (Financer Cookie has a count of how many times Madeline Cookie has lost to the Spice King). As a result, Warming Spice has become sort of a boogieman to cookies of the Republic, and the subject of many unsavory rumors. Biggest one is that he's a cannibal.
Kougin Amann is very confused/conflicted/scared when she meets her future father-in-law.
Oooo you really shouldn’t have gotten me started, I’m going to go off on this (odyssey is one of my favorite arcs considering I made CoB while watching that). Get ready!
So first off it seems that the Creme Republic is heavily based off Europe in general. Nyme also says that it seems a lot of the cookie in the Creme Republic are based off French Deserts/Foods and/or Ingredients for said food.
So, it’s safe to say that the Creme Republic is going to pull a lot of bs that Europe does. Which means we get to rant and call attention to all the bs that Europe does.
Basically, it’s probably common for the pov in Creme Republic to be that ‘we are the best’ or ‘we’re the most civilized’ and that leads to an inflated sense of self. Now this is mainly held through tradition, and probably a good amount of propaganda, there are some that don’t believe it but they’re mainly drowned out.
Basically through tradition they have this sense of ‘anything that isn’t nailed down is ours to take’ (ya know like the British museum). And keep in mind they would probably do this with every nation, if Dark Cacao or Hollyberry’s kingdom have ruin spots, they would 100% try to claim the artifacts as there.
Basically, they would hear the rumors about the ruins of the golden cheese kingdom and see it as their right by the lights. However, they don’t expect the spice kingdom that boarders the desert to be as ruthless as it is, or the Spice King to be as much as a fighter.
Basically, the spice tribes act as the barrier, and their king, who they have named Wild Spice or Spice King (sense obviously they are not going to talk to anyone and learn his name), is the biggest problem. As unlike the others that they could get by, no one can get past him, often injuring many soldiers to varying degrees.
Unknown (but Lucky) to them, but sense the Dark Flour War, Burning Spice has a 'no crumbling' rule, well really, it's a rule that he can only crumbled someone if Golden Cheese approved. But considering she's currently looking after her Kingdom, it's just a full on no crumbling rule. So, it's why they keep sending paladins, sense Burning Spice never kills them.
I imagine this is sort of something expected of paladins, like you fully become a paladin when you march into the deserts for the lights.
This does affect how the Creme Republic, as they often refer to the spice school, as the 'good spices' or 'nonwild spices' or some other name that's not supposed to be offensive but is offensive in its own right.
As you can imagine this different affects how Burning Spice sees the Creme Republic, their attempted raids are the reason he couldn't immediately go looking for Rich Cheese when she disappeared. Like Burning Spice would be so petty he would refuse to speak a language they could understand.
As for the Creme Republic, as much as we'll rag on it, it's not fully evil. Members like Clotted Cream cookie (after getting out from Elder Custard's thumb) thinks the practice of stealing is barbaric. Captain Caviar knows what happens when you mess with things that want to be alone. And Oyster cookie knows through family what happens when you take something that doesn't belong to you.
Kougin Amann is definitely learning to unpack her bias after the tournament, while she at her core she wants to be a paladin (the ones selected by the light to help people) but she's starting to question what it means. Thankfully she has two wonderful partners to help her.
Basically, I'm going to have a lot of fun writing odyssey. Sorry for the ramble.
y'all being ace is so funny i had sex in a dream but my brain covered it with a little spongebob-esque "several moments later" screen and elevator music
So, apparently someone has reblogged a lot of my stuff, other peoples stuff and some tcest (gross), despite my clear DNI towards tcest and proshipping in general
If anyone here has had things reblogged from a user named @/un-worthyplbs, I suggest you block them
Here’s a tag list of people I’ve found who has had their stuff reblogged from them (some of these I won’t actually tag, because I don’t know them, if you know them, I would appreciate you DMing them, but if you do NOT know them, don’t DM them, please. /srs)
It would be really nice if everytime I tried to talk about the way low empathy/no empathy autistic people are treated by allistic people and also sometimes by people with hyper empathy, I didn't end up with some hyperempathetic person feeling the need to derail the conversation by going, "well ACTUALLY having hyper empathy is really hard too!"
Like dear God no one is saying that you dont struggle! We all know how much you struggle thanks to most of autistic activism being centered around you. What I want is for you to to stop going "actually most of us are hyperempathetic," in response to allistics saying that autistic people are heartless and can't feel empathy. Maybe try defending us and pointing out that having no empathy doesnt make you heartless or a monster!
Just please stop centering yourselves when we try to speak about our experiences! I've seen this happen both online and in my real life and I'm getting so sick if it.
Hyperempathetic ppl if you start shit in the notes I'm blocking your ass.
i watched and finished vincenzo and let me just tell you that i am actually OBSESSED. that show was so freaking well done… every little piece of it. it was such a joy to watch something so immersing and I WAS SO LATE TO THE PARTY. wouldn’t go back for the world.
also justice for hanseo (aka my husband). thank you. goodnight.
Okay I see a lot of the discourse going on and I’m just going to add my 2 cents. The tumble tagging system has been broken for a long time. I have fics that I’ve taken off of my masterlist and can’t even find myself that other people can find no problem. Not only that, but I consistently see the same fics when I look at the tags under popular….because they’re popular. It’s not the authors fault. As someone who has always tagged every member in my fics, I can tell you that I have never once gotten traction for it. I’ve only managed to get notes over the years that I’ve been posting.
Some of the authors that I see being attacked have been on here for YEARS. And yeah, maybe for some members that have more individual fans it isn’t fair, but that’s just it. It’s not really going to fix it because tumble has the tagging problem. AO3 tags the same and it works. It’s the algorithm that fucks over everyone.
People need to stop seeing one post and going on a rampage to threaten and discredit authors. This behavior is the same behavior that has sent authors away from tumblr. It’s why the community is continuously losing people. I’ve seen many mutuals and writers that are just trying to share their works leave over the smallest of things.
It just sucks that the only time people want to leave comments on authors work or send them asks, it’s to be rude and intimidate them.
