To all Palestinians sending me asks for donations, I'm very sorry but I cannot donate due to being unemployed. Also I am Disabled and live on social assistance. I will still be reblogging vetted campaigns as well as putting pressure on my government to stop arming Israel, but I cannot give any more donations as I simply don't have enough money.
💔 I am a father of five, and I live with my wife and children in extremely harsh conditions. We are seven people trying to survive day after day amidst the ongoing war in Gaza.
Hello, I'm Shadow and I'm raising money for my friend Hussam and his family who are facing war and hardship in Gaza:
🏕️ Many people think the war is over, but for us, it hasn't. It may have disappeared from the news screens, but the truth is that the danger persists, displacement and forced migration are still a part of our lives, and fear is our constant companion.
👨👩👧👦 I cannot go to work or provide for my family's needs because I stay in the tent to protect and care for my children in these difficult circumstances.
🍼 My youngest daughter desperately needs milk. 👶 She also needs diapers and clothes. 💔 I am unable to provide these basic necessities for her.
🙏 I am writing these words and appealing to anyone who can help. Any support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in my children's lives and give us hope during these difficult times.
🌍 If you are unable to donate, sharing this post may help our story reach people who can help
🤲 We ask for nothing more than the opportunity to live with dignity and provide for our children's basic needs.
❤️ A heartfelt thank you to everyone who reads, shares, or offers any kind of support. Every little bit of help means the world to us..
This is our tattered tent.
Hello, I'm Shadow and I'm raising money for my friend Hussam and his family who are facing war and hardship in Gaza:
I write these words with a broken heart. To those who read this and choose to ignore it, you can simply scroll past, but I am living through the most difficult moments of my life. My husband is slowly dying before my eyes. Due to a severe head and jaw injury, he has been unable to eat or drink for over a week, his weight has dropped to just 39 kilograms, and he is suffering from severe, life-threatening malnutrition.
The doctors confirmed he needs urgent surgery, but we can't afford the operation and treatment. I feel helpless watching him weaken day by day, while time is running out.💔
I'm not asking for the impossible; I'm simply asking for a chance to save his life. Please, if you can't donate, don't hesitate to share our story. It might reach someone who can give him a new lease on life.💔🙏
Hashem’s condition is deteriorating, and we cannot face this alone. Every second counts now, as his health worsens without treatment. Please, do not ignore him; your support is his only chance to survive this nightmare.
Part of what makes Armand such a scary villain and effective antagonist to me is how effectively he's able to convince everyone including himself that he actually completely helpless. If it's out of your hands and you could not prevent it then you can justify anything. If you really convince yourself you have no control over your own life then you can do any amount of cruelty and still conceptualize yourself as at worst a helpless accomplice and at best yourself a victim (it's so hard for you, that you have to do this!). This is what Armand does. And it does make sense, because he had a formative life of abject powerlessness, and he learned, for good reason, that he should expect to have no agency over his life. But then he carries that mentality into situations where he does have the power. "Armand believes he had no choice about the things he did to Louis" isn't the same as "Armand ACTUALLY had no choice" and while you can understand and sympathize with why he thinks that way, it's something that ultimately just makes him that much more dangerous, because every action is justified in advance as being the only possible course of action.
Trans men having male privilege doesn't mean trans men dont experience transphobia. It doesn't mean we don't experience oppression at all.
it just means that we can leverage our position over trans women and get away with it. We can destroy their lives and face 0 repercussions. It means if it comes between a trans man's word and a trans woman's word, he is more likely to be believed.
If you're a feminist this should anger you and you should work to make sure that you're aware of this and never do it. If this makes you defensive, you're probably already doing it. Fix your heart.
I don't want this buried in replies or reblogs, so I'm going with this:
Hannah being Jewish is not why her writing choices for Armand are being questioned. It's the matter of her past Zionist sympathies. And having seen the false conflation between Judaism and Zionism used to justify and obscure some of the worst modern crimes against humanity, I'm not accepting it. No one should.
Similarly, Rolin Jones' previous work on Weeds is being used to contextualise his portrayals of Armand, Louis, & Claudia. Salient critiques of that program include racist stereotyping & Zionist propaganda. There's no public information on whether Jones is Jewish, and it's irrelevant.
Why do people believe that Hannah may have residual Zionist sympathies?
Hannah Moscovitch, whose play East of Berlin examines the Holocaust’s legacy and is coming to Dublin, is not against gender quotas
East of Berlin, which opens at Project Arts Centre in a new production by Brinkmanship Theatre, was inspired by the time Moscovitch spent at a kibbutz in Israel when she was 18. "There were 30 young people, English and American Jews, and one [young man] whose grandfather had murdered Jews during the war. He was doing penance for his family's history, and his presence really stuck in my mind."
What's the problem with a kibbutz?
A major reason why Bernie Sanders' resistance to Zionism—or rather the 'Netanyahu government'—means little when confronting the settler colonial occupation, is his continued idealisation of the kibbutzim movement. This colonial practice—with its basis in Prussian expansion—and land theft movement operates under the guise of a communal utopia, because it offered a greater chance of assimilating newcomers & dispossessing Indigenous Palestinians. And in Hannah's kibbutz's case, native Syrians near the illegally occupied Golan Heights.
Labor Zionists tried to build a communal utopia. They created an oppressive form of ethnic nationalism instead.
The most prominent Jewish Human Rights body in Occupied Palestine, B'Tselem, has long documented the systemic land theft, going right back to the kibbutzim movement. Much like Birthright and the IDF, these collectives of Indigenous elimination are maintained by western foreigners' participation & settlement.
Why is it irresponsible to frame a brown, Muslim-coded character as a Nazi in the third year of a live-streamed genocide against Palestine's majority Muslim population?
Because likening Palestinians and the broader 'Muslim world' to the Nazis is one of the most enduring justifications for indiscriminate violence against them. Every genocidal society frames their victims as both their lessers and existential, inhuman threats that can only be handled through brute force—expulsion & extermination. It's why the Nazis utilised biological racism & called for 'racial hygiene.' It's how the international human rights ecosystem came to appropriate Slobodan Milosevic's idea of 'ethnic cleansing,' which he used to justify the genocide of Bosnian Muslims.
The Jewish far right has been calling Palestinians "Nazis" for almost 80 years, casting them as an irredeemable enemy in an eternal war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stresses he never meant to claim an Islamic leader persuaded Adolf Hitler to adopt the Final Solut
There are ongoing genocides whose perpetrators relish images like this:
Storytelling comes with responsibilities. Moscovitch has publicly used her body to further Zionism, with no documented remorse over that act. As we're in the third year of the Palestinian genocide, Moscovitch's public stance is still one of unchallenged support. If she's not ready to change that, despite the United Nations finally labelling the Zionist-led genocide in Gaza, she at least needs to be more careful. That includes finding other mad scientists to reference when villainising brown Muslim characters; Mengele won't fly. It means ensuring that any story bearing your name & authority doesn't present a brown South Asian man as somehow untouched by Paris' Nazi occupation. How would he have achieved that besides either hiding or collaborating? And with that skin tone, no amount of collaboration would've saved him. If he thrived under such oppression, what would that make him?
I've waffled on, but Moscovitch is key to creating a product with reach. Whether deliberate or not, her position and power over this series' Muslim representation is cause for public scrutiny. We're all watching the same world events unfold. Her promotion gives her even less room for harm, deliberate or otherwise.
I write to you with tears welling in my eyes, my body wracked with pain every second. I write to you because the ignore me and neglect I've endured hurts me more than my injuries. So remember, even if I die, I will never f0rgive anyone who ignored me and my suffering. I implore everyone to look at me and h@lp me by d0nating and sharing whatever they can.
This week, I've been battling severe pain and frequent fainting spells due to severe anemia, and I'm completely unable to afford essential medications because of their high cost. All I wish for is for these fainting spells to stop, and for me to find compassionate hearts to stand by me so I can bu.y my medication and recover quickly.
Shrapnel still lodges in my body, and the pain keeps me awake at night. What makes my suffering even worse is that I was injured when our house was bombed while we were inside. I need urgent surgery but the cost of the operation is exorbitant, and I can't afford it. Now, I can't even afford painkillers to the constant pain tearing at my body.
Please I don't want to diie, I just want to live without pain. I need your sincere sup.port to save my life and end this suffering as soon as possible. Please, I would be extremely grateful to anyone who can d0nate to me. and if you can't, I hope you will shar.e this pOst.
I am very worried about Fadel. He is suffering unendurable pain and desperately needs relief as soon as possible. Please donate to him if you have anything to spare.
The way Becka regarded Agnes as a goddess after her patricide.
She took off the robe, showing Agnes the proof of her devotion. She said "He cant hurt you anymore." searching for her approval. Then she stripped, completely bare and vulnerable before Agnes, important detail in a society so afraid of the "power" of the female body. Then Agnes bathes her, similar to a baptism. Becka says something like "I committed divine justice... and for you" as if Agnes is more important than the lord she has been told to revere. "I would do anything for you, Agnes."
Becka came to Agnes as a disciple proving herself worthy to worship her, and Agnes was just afraid.
straight vs queer ships in shows are always like….omg girl and boy shared a lingering glance once? that must mean they’re in love?…versus i killed my father because he dared lay hands on you. when i was doing it i felt like the divine light of justice and my love for you felt pure and clean and holy because i rid the world of evil in devotion to you.
