The full moon beat heavily onto Emmet’s back, it’s powers coming in waves, each one getting bigger and stronger until the inevitable would happen. He had dragged a chicken around the near woods for his wolf-self to trail the scent throughout the night, so that no harm came to anybody. He could feel it now; the change slowly taking over him, as his back cracked and his head filled with animalistic instinct. He hated this part. No matter how many times he had gone through it, it would always be painful.

Emmet clutched at his head as he felt the last remains of man turn into wolf.

Eyelids fluttering, Emmet pushed himself up off the ground and wrapped his arms around him. He was naked.

Yet again.

He glanced around, recognising the area as the end of his chicken trail. Something warm trickled down his chin, and he used the back of his hand to wipe it away. It was blood.

He prayed that he hadn’t hurt anyone, or worse killed someone, and that a wild animal had come across his path during the night and he had eaten it. He had to get back to his cabin before anyone saw him.

He had to get back now.
