Sherwood Post, introduced in Fire Touched, has a prosthetic foot. But I think Bran mentioned he lost the limb because of black witches and not something before the change.

Yes, I thought about him too but I dismissed him, since he had been imprisoned by black witches, who cut his leg and specifically ensured it wouldn’t grow back, so that’s a special case. There was magic involved.

But on the other hand, Post is no longer submitted to this magic and yet his leg didn’t grow back. Is that a result of the spells, were they designed to prevent the growing forever, or since it doesn’t pose a threat to his life the magic didn’t feel it necessary to heal him ? We don’t have enough informations ! =(

I'm typically a million times more comfortable doing this on anon but. I just finished reading everything you've done so far on the Daemorphing series and I love it so much. Been a while since I read the HDM trilogy, but your reinterpretation of the Animorphs based on that series is making me want to dig out my anthology set.

Thank you so much! I’m in a burst of inspiration for Dæmorphing right now (I was just working on it when I saw this ask) and hearing this is always really encouraging. 

His Dark Materials is such an inspiration for everything I do, not just Dæmorphing, but also original writing. Though in a weird way, even though Dæmorphing is definitely a fanwork of HDM, I feel like I’ve spun off my own universe entirely. I don’t think my dæmons, my Dust, my take on that universe, are the same as his anymore. You may be struck by the differences when you go back and read.

It’s Like Magic (closed w/ faerliechaotic)

Things were getting way too hot and Carlos couldn’t see anything. Smoke was everywhere.

Carlos had left a fire running - he found an old abandoned shack with a fire pit, and since it was far away from any prying No-Maj eyes. He stayed to watch the fire, but had fallen asleep. He woke up to smoke and non-magical fire and he quickly realized that the Ashwinder he’d been trying to create had already showed up, laid its eggs, and the eggs had ignited a fire that was trying to eat up the termite-ridden shack with Carlos inside.

He’d started casting Aguamenti at the source of the fire. Water sprayed from his wand, splashing everywhere in the small shack and onto him.

It took diligence but Carlos was finally able to battle the flames down to a smoulder. Carbon stained the air. Carlos was still spraying water when he heard the creaking. Then there was the groaning from above him and Carlos quickly bolted for the door. He barely had time to register that the door seemed different - heavier to open, somehow, and having a knob instead of a wooden handle - and pulled it open before jumping through onto the porch.

Except... this wasn’t a porch. This was an office.

18. “Look, see? I’m all the way over here, on the other side of the room. Will you calm down now?”  (Maybe Drake or one of the Werewolf kids at Wizardlos during a second visit?)

Carlos still had his wand up, a repulsion hex in mind if the other tried anything. “A-are you done now?” he asked hesitantly. “You’re... you’re okay now?”

Carlos had never met a werewolf before, but he heard that once they were in their wolf form they lost all reason. This... person... he saw them come into the house as a wolf while Carlos was waiting for Mia. Out of instinct Carlos jumped up and drew his wand, throwing up a ward in front of himself.

And now here they were.

Carlos was driving. He was on his way to get a mandated slice of Big Rico’s Pizza, since he hadn’t had one in around six days. He hoped, as he always did, that they took his suggestion of rice or corn flour. (They never did, sadly. This wheat ban really bummed Carlos out).

He saw someone on the sidewalk. She had a set of wings and a fluffy tail. That by itself wouldn’t have been weird for Night Vale, but the thing was Carlos recognized these parts. Confused, he pulled up beside the woman and rolled down his window. Somehow she seemed smaller than she usually was.

“Mia!” Carlos called out the window. “Hey, Mia - what are you doing here?”

Kronos was... Kronos was someone they didn’t know what to do with. They loved the Ampora. Dearly, greatly, and cherished them like the family they quickly learned about. Though, it was never enough. Star couldn’t shake the fears that sit at the back of their head. Couldn’t shake the dark words and the drowning feeling they got whenever they felt they were disappointing the other.

It hurt so much when they felt they disappointed the other.

Kronos was so important, being the first friend that they ever really got, they try so hard to please him. But... They never speak, in fear of rejection. Of being left behind. Of... Of losing someone they love. 

Stabbing them constantly, no matter how hard they try, they watch from a distance and smile. Wanting to watch him grow happy and safe with everything, and one, around him. 

Zeze:

What the fuck is there even to say about Zeze that hasn’t been already? Star cares for Zeze so deeply, he would believe it if someone says he has a crush on him. Though that’s simply not true. The feelings are so strong, and the adoration so platonic, there was hardly a doubt in the sea dwellers mind he’d fight to the death for the Makara. 

He’d do it in a heartbeat.
