Seelie/Unseelie Facts
Lore Post n°2: (Subject to change as of now)
Both can change shape visually but only Unseelie do it on a physical level.
Seelie hearts are white and inverted like monster hearts still. Unseelie hearts however are flipped due to corruption but still white, they turn a pastel color if an Unseelie has absorbed a human soul, reflecting the trait of the victim.
Both are vulnerable to iron and get sick if around it too long due to magic suppression.
Seelie shrink in the human world due to lack of potent magic. Unseelie remain full sized if they have absorbed human souls.
All Seelie/Unseelie/Mages can see each others magic in the form of outlines around each other if the other permits or emotions are running high.
Both are Fae, Seelie and Unseelie are simply different states of existence.
A Seelie is “pure” as in they follow the unwritten rules of nature and the primal flow of magic and how it functions. Unseelie are corrupted fae that have gone against their base nature, betrayed their own identities, and morals.
The line between Seelie and Unseelie is thin and easily crossed, sometimes not even knowingly, but the intent behind the actions that can send a Seelie down the Unseelie path is what causes a transformation.
When Seelie turn Unseelie they take on a permanent change in appearance to reflect the twist to their beings.
Unseelie tend to be more primal and feral, very rarely do they maintain a form of sanity, which is usually determined by how powerful they are as a Seelie.
The “sane” Unseelie are uncaring and will more often than not pull off uneven trades or deals, they are the ones to truly watch out for and a deal should always be avoided with them.
No one is born an Unseelie, a Seelie has to violate nature to become one, everyone is born Seelie.
Unseelie, if they absorbed a human soul, can force humans into their realm against the human’s wishes, no deception or willful intent necessary. But that is less likely to happen than an Unseelie simply harming or even killing a human.
