i have danced for a hundred years, I will dance for a hundred more
imagine an edit of morgana to “faery queen” by kiki rockwell……….
“darling faeries cannot sin” with her being Morgan le Fay? “I have danced for a hundred years, I will dance for a hundred more” with a pre and post reincarnation vibe? and the beat flickering with scenes of her casting magic and maybe dancing, her movements matching the melody. idk. just. think about it….
“And here is the key to the mystery, because Gwenevere’s name means ‘White Shadow’. The element ‘wen’ or ‘gwen’ means ‘white’, ‘dazzling’, ‘holy’, and can be found in many early Welsh names. The same element is found in Irish Gaelic, where finn or fionn means ‘white’, ‘fair’. It is a name frequently given to Faery beings for the simple reason that they can appear to us as dazzling white, shining and fair.”
“In the precursor to this present study, Red Tree, White Tree, I have explored in depth the very real likelihood that Gwenevere is a Faery being, not a human being. When all the evidence for this is brought together and looked at carefully, there can be very little doubt that this is so. When we realise that she is a Faery amongst humans, a Faery being living in a human world, we are able to look at the legends from a completely different viewpoint, where rather than perceiving her only as an undistinguished human being we can discover a great deal of positive meaning in her presence as a representative of the Faery race within the court of the Round Table and as a partner to the human King Arthur.”

a-z myths: fand; irish mythology
fand, a faery queen, was once married to the sea god manann. after he left her, she was preyed upon by three formorian warriors in the battle for control of the irish sea. her only hope in winning this battle was to send for the hero cuchulain who would only agree to come if she would marry him. she reluctantly acquiesced to his wishes, though when she met him, she fell as deeply in love with him as he was with her.
Hey Lailoken, hope you're having a wonderful start of your week. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this matter: I grew up seeing the fair folk as fitting one or both of mainly* two categories (*with some exceptions), one being as Ancestors (of a tribe or people) and the other as Geni Locorum and spirits of place. Sometimes there's overlaps. I never dug too deep on faery faith or magic of the british isles because life took me on a different path but not so long ago I had a dream that made me reconsider. One where I was surrounded by greenery, and there was a great feast, and a beautifully dressed woman (that for some reason, I just knew was fae) came along with a procession of sorts and took me along with them, eventually inviting me to her table and just... talking, and offering me foods and drinks. Eventually even telling me about specific things she'd like me to do to "honor them". The other people around her kept treating her by the title of "Queen", and by the way she was treating me, there was some level of familiarity or filiality I believe. Like meeting an old or distant relative you haven't seen in a while. Is it possible to be called by- or approach the fair folk as ancestors? and build a relationship from that? I'm unsure what to make of that dream. All I know is it wasn't "just a dream". Thanks in advance! -A
There is a lot here to address meaningfully in an anonymous ask, but I can tell you that it is, indeed, possible to be met with Fae Spirits who are ancestral in nature. However, i can also confidently say that no true Queen of the Gloaming is going to be ancestral to you, beyond the broadest sense shared by us all.
