Day 2: Sticks or Stones

One of my favorite things to collect along the beach is Hag Stones! Those are the rocks that have naturally had a hole worn all the way through them after hundreds of years in the ocean.

They say that when you look through the hole you can see the fairy realm and other hidden magic.

Historically they were gifts for kings because they’re so rare. People and witches have worn them for hundreds of years for protection.

𝐅𝐄𝐖  𝐀𝐑𝐄  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐒  𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍  𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃  𝐈𝐒  𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐍  𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌  𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐒  𝐎𝐅  𝐀  𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 .        The   stilling   air   ,    as   if   holding   its   b r e a t h   in   the   presence   of   the   stranger   wandering   through   the   aisles   of   books   .    Towering   bookshelves   looming   ,    l e a n i n g   in   expectancy   ,    hoping   that   something   would   be   chosen   from   their   shelves   .    Looking   up   only   for   briefest   of   moments   upon   hearing   approaching   footsteps   ,    the devil finds himself frowning at the interruption of his reading   .    Book   softly   thudding   shut   within   his   hand   ,    returning   to   the   empty   space   on   the   shelf   which   he   had   pulled   it   from   .    Fingertips   lingering   on   the   weathered   s p i n e   ,    finding   himself   unwilling   to   yet   cast   gaze   upon   the   stranger   (   ancient   ,    beautiful   ,    so   the   whispers   find   themselves   praising   to   him   )   .                          ❛    This   is   a   private   library   ,    few   are   allowed   ,    if   at   all   .     New   faces   are    -------------     rare   .    ❜
