today is the 111th anniversary of the armenian genocide.
your reminder that armenian genocide denial is just as bad as holocaust denial and should be frowned upon in the same way. genocides are all interlinked - the nazis took the idea of death marches from the ones to deir-ez-zor in syria during the armenian genocide, as well as concentration camps. i see really a surprising amount of people not knowing much about it, which is surprising given how much it impacted history - as well as how it inspired the nazis, the turkish government denies it to this day because of how important it was in the creation of a more homogeneous turkish ethnostate. which is why i wanna take the time to post about it and i am seriously begging yall to read up on it. may every person killed in the armenian genocide, including the assyrians and greek orthodox christians who were also killed, separated from their families, and/or forced to convert to islam, rest in peace.
