greggormanphoto A great meet up with dear friend and first muse, Tony Ward, at Bruce Weber's opening at the Fahey Klein Gallery last night. The nude behind us was the first male nude I ever photographed and luckily, of the one and only Tony Ward, taken in 1988 in my studio. This was the very beginning of my fine art photography and Tony and I went on to produce many many shoots over the years. Photographed by @garydjohns johns

If you live in LA drop by Fahey/Klein!!! I love the humour and use of sexuality in Sandro Millers most recent exhibit. The unostentatious slights made at social taboos, and observing my own levels of curiousness/comfort at the Malkovich substitute made for a very entertaining visit.

Last week I ran over to the Fahey/Klein Gallery to look over at a grand archive of the monumental work of Ellen Von Unwerth. The collection showed off the sense of confident submission her photos created. One of the jewels in my opinion was the girl in the cage, restrained but for your own good.

Soon after my friend Jen grabbed us and brought us to the Zegna launch at the JF Chen Antiques space… Plastered against the walls were a range of Inez and Vinoodh photos of the men in their Zegna couture looks. The opposite of the Von Unwerth opening these were such dreamy unconfident men, cute looking away… Everyone at the party looked so classy I felt like a street rat in my best conservative wear and out of it… as I love.

The Fahey/Klein Gallery is pleased to present “On Set,” an exhibition of classic Hollywood photographer Bob Willoughby, who is widely considered to be the first “Hollywood Special” photographer— the first "outside" photographer to be hired by the studios to document the filming of a motion picture for the major magazines and publications of the time, such as Look and Life. Working alongside legendary filmmakers and iconic Hollywood actors, Willoughby created lasting images that captured behind the scenes moments that define the very essence of the golden era of motion picture history. Willoughby's photographs are intimate exposures from such renowned Hollywood classics as A Star Is Born, Rebel Without a Cause, My Fair Lady, The Graduate, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and Rosemary’s Baby.
Opening reception is this Thursday Dec 13th from 7 to 9 pm @ Fahey/Klein Gallery on La Brea.
