It’s like when Thorn got injured, he saw Fah and his teammates progressing as players, practicing their skills, and he thought what was upsetting him was that he wasn’t going to be able to keep up. He thought what pained him the most was that he couldn’t become a better basketball player.

And so he resorted to getting help from someone I think even he knew deep down wasn’t good for him. But it got him on the court again, so he listened and learned from Coach Tuan. And he became someone he wasn’t just to reach this goal that he thought he wanted, to be the best basketball player, at whatever cost. Because he had falsely attributed his hurt after his injury to wanting this.

Thorn hurt his friends and betrayed his morals to get there, and we saw him hit rock bottom during his game against Fah’s team. Irritable, mean, selfish. He absorbed so much of Coach Tuan’s beliefs, so much of who he is, that Thorn lost sight of himself.

Then, off the court and alone with Fah, it hit him all at once. That what he was feeling when he was first injured was not a fear of falling behind but instead… being left behind. He was lonely. Everyone got to do what he loved without him, and he so quickly felt forgotten.

Thorn got back on the court after his injury and felt lonelier than ever, because basketball doesn’t mean anything to him if he’s doing it by himself. If he doesn’t have his team. He’s never been the kind of player who can be selfish, and he never will be. That’s okay.

Because the thing about Thorn, and Fah, and all of their teammates, is that relying on each other does make them better. Better players, better friends, and better people.

There can be two kinds of basketball players in this world, and it took failing at one for Thorn to realize which of the two he is.

I think he’s a phenomenally interesting character, and I loved watching him come to this realization in this episode so much.

#you’re my sky the series #you’re my sky #fahtorn #fahthorn #thornfah #I’m just here rambling but like I just LOVE how real this was #humans confuse their emotions all of the time and seek support in the wrong ways #for thorn it was trying to rush his recovery by becoming someone he wasn’t #because what he thought he wanted was to not fall behind on his skills #but truthfully he was just lonely and feeling left behind #and if we’re being truly real here #I don’t think he would have reached this point if Fah and his teammates hadn’t tried to hide from him #obviously thorn made the decisions he did on his own and he is responsible for those #but I don’t think he’s all to blame either #in his darkest moment he needed to feel included #and when he continually wasn’t getting that (ie the group chat) he just grew more and more isolated #this episode was so good

A lot of people are complaining that the Ai/Saen hookup was too fast and ooc for Ai. What are your thoughts? Also, I know some people think they went on vacation together but I believe they went to do interviews for their class project. Right?

it definitely did happen fast and it seemed like they were skipping steps lol, but somehow so did fahtorn? Tbh to me the only thing that happened at a reasonable pace this episode was domvee lol. But I think that’s because the show has been going at a generally slower pace so far. This episode was for the sole purpose of developing the couples which is a nice concept and I liked all of their scenes but maybe they shouldn’t have cramped it all together lol. It all seemed a bit fast that way. But maybe that’s just me.

I was looking forward to domevee the most and as much as it hurt that they didn't give them the same development as the other 2, their story is still my favorite. It’s also the most difficult to tell and I really like how they’re pacing it so far.

But back to AiSaen - I'm happy for them and I actually don’t think it was too ooc for Ai. We’ve seen him develop feelings for Saen in the previous episodes so it didn’t come out of nowhere. And yeah I was confused about their outing as well but I think they went to do interviews for their project and Saen tricked Ai into thinking they were going to stay at a hotel lol.
