first time thoughts on The Shadow Rising

- the highlight of this book was perrin and faile for me so imagine my shock when i go online and see that people hate her. also ik they can be toxic but i enjoyed it ngl.

- why did it feel like we were in tear forever. i didn’t mind it but still.

- mats getting really annoying. sorry.

- why are so many ppl in love with rand. these people throw around the word love very liberally.

She did not doubt her husband’s love, but she could not treat Berelain as the woman deserved, and that forced her, against her will, to play a game with Perrin too often as the gaming board. And the prize, so Berelain believed. If only Perrin did not sometimes behave as if he might be.

Faile respects Berelain because she is smart and brave (and kicked her ass). But because Perrin seems to want to be the main prize in their “game,” and because he treats Berelain as an equally strong woman while being gentle with Faile, as if he’s afraid to hurt her (which likely makes Berelain seem to be winning their game), Faile feels forced to play.

I enjoy this kind of "polyamory" way more than Rand’s.

I could assume that Faile is also jealous because of Rand, as Perrin and Rand shouted at each other and had that intense, sexy fight with blood and broken things that Faile wishes she had with Perrin.
