Send me “Don’t chase the rabbit” and your muse will be shown a random memory from my muse’s past.
She was six, and the light was barely peeking out behind the clouds, greeting the morning. Karin sneaked out of the house— quietly, she had things to do, and didn’t want to cause a disturbance with her mother and father who were still asleep.
The day was Karin’s parents anniversary, and she wanted to go and pick fresh honeysuckle and find a nice card for her parents. She had been saving up the money for a while now. Grubby hands held onto her wallet, as she rushed into town. Tiny feet pittering and pattering below her, her asymmetrical hair flying out in short bursts.
She never could be bothered to do anything with it. When she finally made it to town in Kusagakure, bright eyes looked around everywhere. Hands clamsping tighter on her bag and she excitedly made the way to the market where she just knew there would be cards.
She could already feel the warmth of her parent’s smiles— oomph!!!
Looking up, Karin’s little mouth only seemed smaller as she pouted.
”Aren’t you going to ask for forgiveness for running into us?” One of the two people said.
Karin blinked, “I-I’m really sorry!” She managed to get out before her wallet was taken from her and she jumped up, “Hey! Hey! Give that back now! I’ve been saving up for a while now for a card!”
The shorter of the two grinned at Karin before dumping everything out and taking what little ryo she held, “Later kid.”
A frown, and tears started to stream down Karin’s face, as she turned and ran into the field of flowers, where she would eventually fall asleep at, only to find her mother above her with a chiding look on her face.
