Thank you for the quality of life update which provides several welcome changes, such as free B-slots, inventory expansions for older characters, the ability to enhance to +8 without breaking, and much more. I feel there are more opportunities the average player now has thanks to this update.
However.....I fear you might be too late.
Seeing the changes implemented is welcome, but it worries me about the state of the game. I say that it’s too late because, to my knowledge, most of the playerbase has left by now, with a smaller percent of the once-lively community still playing. Seeing B-slots, one of the most popular items in the game, go from paid to 30-day to completely free...It makes me think the company is desperate to get players engaged again before the game goes out.
And I fear this won’t be enough to get players back, because there isn’t a point to get back into it in its current state. We just received Varnimyr, a place in which your attack, defense, and HP are reduced by 30%. This means that if your attack, physical or magical, is around 25,000, it will only count as 17,500, which will artificially make the enemies of Varnimyr seem stronger. I haven’t tried Varnimyr myself, but from what I have seen online and heard from friends, the place is ridiculous even for completely-geared characters. And from what I’ve seen....The rewards are far from being worth the trouble.
Obviously there is more to do in this game than end-game dungeon content, but the other options are a bit limited. If you want to PvP, then your only option will be sparring rooms, because the matchmaking in Arena is horrendous in what the game determines to be “best” for your “skill”. Ereda Island is completely dry, with matches nearly impossible to find and the rewards being lackluster. Events in the game are interesting but not very engaging, there is little incentive for the player to complete the event.
There is much more to discuss on the current state of Elsword, and I encourage that you look into the feedback of other players to see what they think. This is just one person’s opinion on the issue.
Sincerely,
