He didn’t resent the lordship his Queen had gifted him with, far from it! The marsh he was given was beautiful, full of gorgeous trees, boggy water perfect to swim in, lily pads for him to leap from — and the home! The keep the masons had built for him was wonderful, enough room to expand but not too much room that it’d feel cold and empty. But there was a loneliness to it, when he wasn’t lingering around the castle, sharing stories with the dwarf and his human companion in taverns, or checking in on Crumb’s experience with his new knighthood, its ever so quiet in his keep. The crickets and croaks of frogs he no longer feels such a kinship with were a comfort, but there’s no one to banter with, to jest and poke fun at.
