Would you ever consider doing an edit of Kuroe's outfit in the future? i know you're busy with other things but i'm curious on your opinion on her magical attire? do you think it's the revealing outfit that's the problem or her design could be reworked better?

Hey hey~ Thanks for sending in an ask! I’m happy that people value my opinion even if I’m not really a professional. 

Hmm, when it comes to Kuroe’s design, I don’t really care for it. Firstly, it just radiates so much Wings of Magius vibes that it’s distracting, although I can admit that it won’t be a problem for first time viewers. I haven’t even seen the first episode but I just know that she’s going to come back later as a member, especially since [SPOILERS I GUESS] there is literally a Kuroe character in the game that’s a member of the Wings. While that’s a big drawback, there’s also the fact that it’s a Homura-fied palette version of Iroha’s design. Their outfits are so similar it’s maddening. Iroha’s hood/cloak always gave off a beach-towel vibe to me - don’t know why haha - and it serves to differentiate her from any of the original cast. It also flows, while Kuroe’s is rigid and stiff, giving me the impression she’s shy or is trying to hide: and if that’s her personality, then yay basic shape design theory is working. 

I feel like they realized they shouldn’t just have this child, Kuroe, walking around with so much bare skin they slapped a cloak on her to match bestie Iroha, and from what I’ve seen it doesn’t serve her at all. She’s wearing knee high fabric and sandals? Is she cold?? She looks cold. 

~CLOAK GANG COMPARISON~

Perhaps the more I see her in the show, the more it’ll grow on me. From looking purely at her reference sheet, she’s just lowkey very boring and uninspired. Hopefully she has a great personality because from design alone, I’m not impressed. 

One day they’ll hopefully stop giving all of these characters an exposed bellies because it ain’t the early 2000s anymore, it’s not fashionable lol

I want to do a redesign, but without knowing her weapon, that makes it really hard to shape her outfit. For example, Oriko is conventionally OP and has long ranged attacks so she gets to have an over the top outfit because she won’t be moving around a lot. Iroha’s towel cloak even curves around her arms so she can fire her cross bow more easily. 

I think they should lean more into the butterfly angle that they’ve got going on, because for some reason her skirt just SCREAMS butterfly to me. I can’t explain it. 

Again, I really appreciate you sending in this ask. Currently, I’m back in school so working on these projects is going to be put on the back burner for now. Who knows, maybe I’ll want to procrastinate and finish another outfit. You’ll just have to wait and see. (◕ヮ≦)~✧
