🌟 Fake Generosity
I'm an atheist. For historical reasons as well as science based and if we're gonna get nitty gritty about it, for moral and spiritual reasons as well.
When people tell me they're going to pray for me, I kind of want to tell them I would have respected them more if they had kept their mouth shut.
Had a weird conversation with a boomer today who told me they believe in science but also believe in the power of prayer and group thought. I just don't how anyone can deadass tell you that they're offering you 'help' like this, and then look you in the face.
I hate it when someone makes a big show out of being generous. Be fucking discreet. As great as it makes you feel it's sometimes very embarrassing for the recipient and comes across a bit fake. It's like "LOOK AT WHAT A GREAT PERSON I AM HELPING THE LOWLY ...!" Just don't - it's humiliating. Isn't there a name for people like that? If there isn't, there should be.
