I need to stop watching Broadway actors get interviewed - I rate the interviewer.
Like if you interview the right person with the right APPROPRIATE questions you don't gotta be weird or falsely funny.
You have limited time, yes, but honestly with some people you just gotta know you're just not gonna get through everything. [Cough cough, Christian Borle because he likes conversation, not interviews].
In all honesty I was mainly watching Christian Borle because he's funny. Not that he tells jokes (he does and no one laughs [rolls eyes]) but his person as a whole, his expressions are just funny.
(We are not friends, I find it weird calling him by his first name. It's also weird calling him by his last I think. I'm in name limbo.)
Don't interview Borle with other people. He's a social butterfly. Just to keep it simple and honest. It will go from you're interviewing them, to them having a 5 minute conversation on camera. He wasn't lying when he said he doesn't like talking about himself. He literally groans sometimes when the interviewer says they'll be asking him questions. Mr. Borle, what did you think this was??? Did they catfish you with this event's details???
'Ugh, another interview. I thought this was gonna be tea time for real this time. ' - that's how it feels when he sighs and I get so confused I laugh.
This is just the tip of the iceberg because we haven't even gotten to why the interviewers themselves got me scratching my head.
They all act like fans. Which is expected, I guess, but isn't great for someone that wants a dialogue not an interview.
They're not all the same type of fan tho. Some can't figure out what to say, nervous. Others just keep talking like they're trying to keep Borle laughing. And then there's the one(s) who wanna act like they friends, besties at that, and if I go any further with this example it will be too specific because I found this interviewer far to strange.
I love when an interviewer starts speaking and Borle has the look of, 'What I think you're about to say is not what I expected. I still dare you to say it though.' because I'm looking the same way.
Watching Christian Borle's in person interviews is like being his best friend because he looks at the camera like, 'are you hearing this'.
"Am I allowed to say that?" Looks at camera.
hm
Why is it that the saddest people laugh the loudest
UR SO COOL I WANNA BE YOU BUT ILL ASK ANONYMOUSLY TO INCREASE UR COOL FACTOR

tip- if you have to be super-mean to make a joke you’re probably not funny :/
Laugh tracks
Who provides the voices in laugh tracks that we hear in most TV shows? Who are these people and why were they chosen above the rest to represent laughter? They had one job and they still managed to make it sound fake.
