A proud, wanted-to-be with a villain girl in public, boyfriend, and it was time for the whole story to come unraveled. “Just...don’t do it,” Mal pleaded, clinging to the chance to have Evie hold her hand and kiss her in public for just a little longer. “Don’t tell people about our break up yet, wait just a little longer, until they’re really sure we’re in love before we call it off.” Realizing how desperate she sounded, she quickly stiffened and added, “I don’t want to get you sent back to the Isle when I beat them up for asking too many questions, that’s all.”

It won’t ruin our quest for the wand, don’t worry.” Evie winked and clapped her hands together excitedly, glad to at last have her best friend on board with her new secret relationship. Mal had seemed so down about it lately that it was nice to have reached understanding. “What about a movie marathon tonight in our room to celebrate? You pick all the bloody scary movies you want, and I’ll steal some snacks from the kitchen. We can stay up all night in celebration!” Evie leaned in and pressed a kiss to Mal’s cheek before running off to the kitchen without waiting for an answer.
