Expanded Commissions Info
1. Rough pastel art is very freeform and quick. Blending done on these pieces will often be minimal and the finished pieces will reflect that. Average size for these are roughly 8.5″x11″, large size will typically fall into 12″x18″ or something similar.
2. Detailed pastel art pieces involve a lot more time and careful consideration. I’ll often use a wider variety of pastels and techniques for these to create what I consider to be my best traditional art pieces. Compared to Brushed, these pieces can also be pushed to darker colors more easily. Average sized pieces will be able to fit on a 8.5″x11″ or smaller, with discounts being offered prior to payment if I opt for an uncommonly small size.
3. Inverted art is exactly what it sounds like. Doing an inverted piece takes some additional time due to having to check with my phone to ensure I’m taking the piece in the right direction. These pieces can feature Limited Color, but I’ll generally try to avoid it unless the effect adds to the piece in some notable way as trying to find a color’s inverse in traditional mediums can be exceedingly difficult at times.
4. Brushed pastel pieces are Ink/Pastel pieces and are always outlined. Backgrounds are unavailable for these due to the difficulty that exists in pushing color values with the Brushed method. These pieces will typically be brighter with more of the white of the page shining through.
5. Subjects: I’m willing to draw most things. However, keep in mind that I am by no means whatsoever a master of all forms. I can guarantee that I’ll put my best foot forward drawing whatever is requested, but just keep in mind that if its not in any of my areas of expertise, I may have difficulty with it. -5a. Subjects I typically draw include Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Xenoblade and birds. I’m also a training architecture student, so buildings aren’t out of the question for me. I’m also willing to go out of my comfort zone however, so feel free to contact me with any subject in mind. -5b. I will not do design work at this time. If you commission me, please send references of the character so that I have something to work off of. -5c. I reserve the right to turn down requests if I believe them to either be too complex, potentially offensive or generally hazardous to my art career.
1. General process of a commission will involve a) receiving and accepting a commission request; b) thumbnailing of the piece and confirming pose/composition with the commissioner; c) receiving payment for the commission; d) sketching, (inking), coloring and shading, and finalization using digital tools, during which I will keep the commissioner updated on progress. note: I am willing to attempt to send the physical pieces to commissioners through the mail, but as I have literally never attempted this before, I’m restricting this to the United States at the current time. The cost of postage over a dollar will be added to the piece’s cost, but the commissioner can make the decision on this after seeing the finished piece.
2. I reserve the right to post and feature the art in future portfolios. Commissioners can use the art however they wish as long as I am properly credited as the creator. I will not create prints or otherwise resell pieces created for commissions.
3. After you confirm the pose/composition from the thumbnails, I’ll send you the link for my PayPal over message. No refunds will be issued after receiving payment. Once you’ve paid for the commission, I will finish it to the best of my abilities.
4. I will try my best to have commissions completed within two weeks of receiving them, but keep in mind that I am a college student so delays may occur.
5. These terms may be changed in the future. If I find changes or additions are necessary, I will post an update calling it out.
Thanks for reading this far and I hope you have a wonderful day. +)
Mega Diancie, full color, for Smogon’s Front Page Art Contest. Lot of fun to draw, much more tedious to color, but the final result was well worth it. Altaria, it’s younger sister, can be found here. Chesnaught, its older brother, can be found here. DA Link: Diancie
