If you're reading a crafty blog post (and you are), you probably already have the supplies you need for this project.  I did, so this eco-friendly, super easy Thanksgiving decoration cost me a grand total of $0.00.  Enough chatter, let's make some fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la foliage!

WHAT YOU NEED:

Printer

Leaf template (click here to download)

Scissors

Magazines*

Hole punch

Thread

Painter's tape

Pen/ Sharpie

Spray adhesive

Glitter (extra fine glitter is best)

Plate

*Why magazines?  The glossy pages don't absorb the spray adhesive so the leaves won't curl.  Plus, if you have an address, you have some magazines laying around that you can immediately recycle.

WHAT TO DO:

1.  Print the leaf template and cut out.  2. Place leaf stencil onto magazine page, trace, and cut out.  Make about 16. 3. Punch a hole in each of your leaves.   4. Cut 16 pieces of thread between 3-6" long. Tie thread through the leaves. 5. Spread glitter out on plate.  Holding onto the thread, spray adhesive one side of leaf (hold can about 6-8" away from leaf).  Put the leaf sticky-side-down into the glitter.  Repeat for back side.   6. Hang leaves on mantle with painter's tape.  To keep the leaves fresh for next year, put wax paper between the leaves when storing.
