I am unreasonably happy that you don't hate fallenholly and even put it in the very good tier lol. I just have a soft spot for this ship and it kinda pains me that it doesn't seem to be very well liked on this site. I do also fw it in a qpr way where they aren't traditional mates per se, but they still have a close relationship.
i 100% understand Why people dont like fallenholly but to me it is simply one of the most compelling relationships that any of the Three have with like. anyone? ESPECIALLY "canon" romantic interests. the idea of a long-dead lonely ghost boy saving someone from their failed suicide attempt and the two of them stuck in purgatory together as they both try to not think about the gaping loneliness that has plagued them for years and all they have is each other is simply amazing. it's so tasty. i dont even care if it's romantic or not, i wouldnt even call them "mates" or whatever they just have this truly fascinating relationship and fallen leaves sees hollyleaf at her lowest and he loves her and hollyleaf wants to stay so bad but knows she could never could and idk man!! idk it's so damn Compelling. and like real people do like hozier was written about them
