Title: Earthquake Metaphor

Course: Image Methodology

Instructor: Kim Garza

For this project, I chose the scientific theory "Earthquake" to create a metaphor for. In my story, two sharks begin fighting, mirroring two things having friction in the beginning of an earthquake. One shark pushes the other into a mermaid castle creating an explosion, leaving a large amount of rubble. Earthquakes destroy and cause destruction. I used photographs, scans of objects and materials, and Illustrator to create my characters, background, and scene. I created my video in Adobe AfterEffects

Title: Austin Icon

Course: Graphic Design 1

The purpose of this project was to create three icons depicting any topic or subject of our choice. I chose the city of Austin and from the three icons I created, I have created this video to show my process of iterations and the creative process to narrow down to my final icon. I used Adobe AfterEffects.

Image Methodology- Scales 2

We were to make a composition in the style of Constructivism. For the first photo my prompt was "What is profane?". For the second, my task was to create a paper doll of myself. For the third photo, my prompt was "describe the zen doctrine in your own words". Click each photo for the large format.

Our second scales project explored the motifs of the Russian constructivist movement. My first composition is an exploration of the prompt "What is profane?". The second is a paper doll of myself, featuring the items that captured my sense of humor at the time. The third (my personal favorite!) composition is an exploration of the prompt "describe the zen doctrine in your own words".

Image Methodology- Scales 1

We were to make a composition "of or endowed with the sense of touch". My prompt was "What is Eternity?" Click each photo for the large format.

What is eternity? I explored this concept through photography for my first scales exercise. Each photograph plays with the idea of the sense of touch enabling an individual moment of anticipation in a child's life to be remembered for an eternity.

Symbolic Methodology Process

After drafting many symbols on illustrator, I was able to finalize the three symbols for home goods, machinery, and technology. However, once choosing my final symbols I was to document my process on finalizing them. The video above shows how I narrowed down nine of my symbols to the final three, one representing each category.
