you're the most interesting thing that's ever happened to me.

The sudden declaration stopped him in his tracks, and the soles of his combat boots squeaked against a manhole embedded into the pavement below as he turned to face the other man, grey-blue eyes half heartedly glaring at him in first response. It was cold out, winter bearing down hard upon the city of Midgar, and in a rare display, Squall had his jacket zipped up, hands shoved deep into the pockets.
Costa del Sol had always been warm, sometimes too warm, and yet the harsh winters of Midgar seemed easy in comparison to hearing Cloud say those words. How the hell did he navigate them when they were sprung upon him without warning during the middle of a busy street? A silence lingers between them whilst he pondered on what to say. Sure, he liked Cloud, he was quiet and capable, excellent for sparring with, and he owned a cool bike.
But did he like him as maybe more than a friend? Unknown. He needed to contemplate that idea further with this new information in mind. A quiet sigh escaped him, breath fogging up in the air from the cold. The slender brows resting above his eyes rose high, and his head tilted a fraction. "How sad for you..." He finally said in a distant, nonchalant sort of way before facing forwards again to continue on his path. "Hurry up, Strife...or I'm leaving you behind"
