there is a way to appeal property tax assessment, my dad has definitely done it before successfully, though I imagine that would be a huge spoon drain

I’m going to have to look into it. Trustee Aunt does not think we would qualify/be able to appeal because I have only lived here <2 years and we did work/improved it. (New roof, bit of landscaping, kitchen work, and bathroom work, etc.)

Which is also why I’m hoping there’s some kind of program here in ABQ for disabled people. My therapist gets her prop taxes halved bc she is a disabled veteran... I don’t have the veteran status so I can’t get the help she did but maybe there’s something.

This neighborhood, being so close to downtown, is just going up in value generally, from what I hear, so it may be even rougher, since ABQ wants to turn this into multifamily/commercial/’A Gateway To Downtown’ from all reports, but I love this location/part of town so damn muuuch. It’s nice being central to absolutely everything, low crime, and QUIET, even if I can hear outdoor concerts being held downtown in my kitchen and the drag races they have somewhere nearish by around midnight on weekends and some holidays.

There indeed should be almost a DOZEN items on that wishlist.

cheesecake can be frozen for later, but if you eat it all, I won't judge, I have many stories of food regrets myself
