please don't take this the wrong way, but i think a good portion of the reason people can't see izuocha as a viable ship is because they want all the characters to be gay™, and it just doesn't work like that
I see this kind of reasoning a lot and there may be some truth to it to a degree.
I do not blame people for shipping anything in the lgbt+ spectrum. Honestly I would love to see more representation in this media (jap manga/anime) but unfortunately Japan is still conservative as a majority. We don’t see that because we see the butthole of the internet where they have free reign to throw Doujin and their fanworks. Japan is changing tho, albeit very slowly, but realistically speaking the facts remain that Shounen manga hardly has any endgame lgbt+ ships.
With that said, there isn’t a reason to give up on hope tho. We have Horikoshi who created characters like Tiger and Magne who are both confirmed transgender which is surprising to see in shounen manga (Most of the time its just a hush-hush cute looking girl that is insinuated to be male, crossdressing, minor characters that are said to be lbgt+ but not much development, etc.) so for that I can see why an influx of ppl having hope for their desired endgame is ever present. ((ALSO because every character in this gd series is so lovable and shipable))
This is great BUT it also doesn’t excuse ppl to ship hate or hate on Izuocha for being a straight ship. Just like ship hate with certain characters, ship hate based on genders is just the same and it’s very sad when people try to pin them against one another.
Its okay to ship something but some ppl need to recognize and accept what is canon and what is fanon. Respect others perspectives and there’s really no reason to be upset that other ppl ship a different ship.
