The story behind your Faeries is so fascinating!! Where do you come up with this stuff?
I wish I could tell you, but a lot of my stuff is a mesh of things I’ve read/seen. Be sure to look up faerie folklore, its quite bizzare and interesting! I didn’t want them to be a comic-relief/tinkerbell-like faerie, but instead a much darker, sadistic variant that still looks dainty and adorable. I’ve written quite a bit about them on my offtime(Just to jot everything down-I suck at writing).
Some of the sketches below illustrate:
The biggest culprits of faerie hunting were the Fallore, who experimented on their finds, and used them as powerful sources of magic.
The faerie and Nightkin have maintained peace through a treaty that has been kept for over 700 years. (The Nightkin are honorable mofos)
The faerie-kin are powerful shapeshifters, and because of their romanticized obsession with humankind, they changed their default form to be more human-like. A faerie’s true form is a much more insect-like in appearance. This way they feel much more appealing to their masters.
I’ll be sure to upload more about them when I get time~!
