honestly the thing that bothered me the most in fallout was the nasty ways people ate pre war food. that nuka either has anti decarbonation or its all warm flat syrup. and why cant i COOK blamco mac in the cooking station!!! hard dry pasta is gross!!!!

OC Interview with Michael Stevens

I wasn't tagged by anyone but it seemed like fun and it was! Not tagging anyone in particular, if ya wanna do then do it! Anything striked out and italicized is me commenting on whatever the subject is about.

1. What is your name?

The name’s Michael Stevens, nice to meet you. Initiate firm handshake to assert dominance as alpha

2. Do you know why are you named that?

-He shrugs- Uh, my parents thought it was a nice name I suppose.

3. Are you single or taken?

Single. I'm not really looking for love at the moment but if it happens, it happens.

4. Have any abilities or powers?

I don’t have any as far as I'm aware of. 

5. Stop being a Mary Sue.

Pardon me? I don't think I quite understand what you mean by that?

6. What’s your eye color?

Bright blue, like the sky on a clear sunny day... or so I've heard.

7. How about your hair color?

Grey, as typical for a man my age. 

8. Have any family members?

By blood and that are alive…. I only have one person. If you count all those I've taken in, then I guess you could say I have many.

9. Oh? How about pets?

Currently I only have Dogmeat, but I do plan on getting him a friend so he isn't as lonely when he's not with me on rare occasion.

10. That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like?

There's a lot of things I don't like, but to keep it brief, I don't like people who don't have sympathy and compassion for others.

11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?

I like grilling or open fire cooking. There's something about it that relaxes me, plus there's food at the end. Kill two birds with one stone.

12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?

Yes but it's not something I'm proud of, I do it out of necessity, and for a while I did it out of patriotism.

13. Ever… killed anyone before?

Same answer as the previous question.

14. What kind of animal are you?

I've heard many refer to me as "Papa Bear". So if I had to choose, then I'd say bear.

15. Name your worst habits?

Doesn't happen too often but I can go a little overboard and smother those I take in. I try my best to avoid doing that.

16. Do you look up to anyone at all?

My son…-He goes quiet, spacing out for a moment before visibly shaking himself out of it- I-I don't want to talk about it.

17. Are you gay, straight or bisexual?

Straight, admittedly a little curious. Like I said before; if it happens, it happens 

18. Do you go to school?

Sadly I don't think there are any schools out here in the wastes that would further my education so no.

19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?

You already know I had a son… Again I don't want to talk about it. As far as marriage goes, it's not on the list of things I want to do before I die. But who's know, maybe that'll change when I find that special someone, if I ever even find them.

20. Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?

Not that I'm aware of?

21. What are you most afraid of?

Failing as a father… again.

22. What do you usually wear?

My usual getup is my atom cats jacket, any jeans that that don't have any holes or tears, a newsboy cap, and my glasses.

23. What’s one food that tempts you?

Fancy Lad cakes. If the coursers can eat them and love them, then they must not be as bad as I think.

24. Am I annoying to you?

I wouldn't say that you're annoying.

25. Well, it’s still not over!

Before another question could be asked, Michael let out a loud body shaking sneeze. In seconds all dads within a 5 mile radius can be seen fleeing in the other direction away from the source. I'm sorry I thought this was funny and had to include it

26. What class are you (low/middle/high)?

Is there still a class system in the wastes? Well if I had to take a gander I'd say middle class? 

27. How many friends do you have?

I'd like to believe I have many friends. Codsworth, Nick, and Preston to name a few.

28. What are your thoughts on pie?

I'd give a lot to be able to recreate a good ol’ fashioned apple pie.

29. Favorite drink?

Whiskey for alcohol and some tea for something non alcoholic.

30. What’s your favorite place?

That's a tough one, but probably Sanctuary. As painful as some of the memories are, I've made plenty that help ease that pain. 

31. Are you interested in anyone?

Not at the moment. I'm getting up there in age, so I doubt anyone would be interested in an old man like me.

32. That was a stupid question…

I don't think it was stupid per say.

33. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?

I rather like both but if I had to choose one I'd choose lake. Who knows what the radiation has done to the ocean. It was already scary before the war, and I'm not trying to find out what's lurking in there now. 

34. What’s your type?

Someone who's kind, patient, and has a drive to help those in need

35. Any fetishes?

I'm sorry but I can't answer this one because I see him as a father so… yeah...

36. Camping or outdoors?

Those are pretty similar, no? I mean I wouldn't mind a camping trip where I don't constantly have to stay on guard.

Day 16: Swollen

“I love you.”

He heard the words, but took a few seconds to register them. Once he did, his mind began reeling. His thoughts sped up, as he watched Harvey fidget with his leather jacket, and his freckled cheeks turn more red. 

He knew. He’d known for a while. He’d become an expert in watching people, reading their expressions, and figuring out the proper response. With his poor fighting skills, it had been the only way he’d survived this long. He picked up on how Harvey felt long ago, ever since they first started talking and working together. His callous and rude exterior always seemed to vanish around him, offering him help when he didn’t ask and pushing him behind when the faintest sound of foreign gunshots echoed in their direction. He was gentle with him and never looked at Finn with anything except admiration and soft, warm eyes. 

And yet… 

The smell of cigarette smoke. The faint sounds of metal joints. The rasping, but smooth voice, accompanied by a rolling accent and a sharp tongue. Finn knew he loved Valentine. But he also knew that Valentine…would never love him back. Any hint of a romantic relationship was passed over by Nick, he either never seemed to pick up on it or was ignoring it on purpose. The fruitlessness of the venture wore him down, and he was losing sleep over it. He couldn’t afford that.

Harvey was looking at him with bright eyes. His normal scowl was gone, instead his brow furrowed in anticipation. It was quickly transforming into one of fear as Finn remained silent. 

‘I couldn’t love Valentine, but maybe…‘ 

 Harvey looked about to say something just as he reached up and cupped his face with his hands. Whatever he was going to say died on his lips as Finn stepped closer and brought their heads closer. 

“I…love you, too." 

He didn’t. But he could try.
