Another fallout horse concept I tried thinking about how they would be used and I have so many more ideas
Followers I had an idea- should I draw it?
HauntedWasteland: Oct.16th: Bloody Prints on Vault Walls. This was a nice quick piece of art I did. I really just thought of the idea of irony and thought of the posters vault boy is often seen in. Here's a question for the community: What kind of vault experiment would you want to see in another installment? For me I have this funny idea of a vault filled with narcissistic people to see what would happen if residents who percieved themselves as superior would behave in the prescence of similar thinking individuals. My thought is that they would last a little bit before ending up trying to kill each other to prove who was fit to leave the vault to "save" it. The last survivor would be covered in blood and gore after a horrid battle and walk out of the vault door. They glance at the wasteland before them, ready to claim it and become supreme overseer. Only to have them die to a mole rat or crushed by a boulder.
Fallout Mods/Setting Concepts that I think are neat/would be fun to encounter:
* A monastic chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel (The Steel Quill?) Organized around an Abbott and the preservation of written culture and blueprints and stuff.
* A religious radio station that is run out of an old house with an antenna on top that makes it look like a church with a steeple from the distance.
* [Wild Wasteland] A Quest that takes you through areas modeled after the Among Us maps (Not Airship). Solving the murders, repairing the systems, etc.
* Snowy areas. I would love a Fallout Alaska or something similar
* Post-War Communist/Socialist/left-anarchist groups. Maybe an actual settlement of Maoist ghouls, maybe just a small town that does mutual aid.
* Historians. I know that Rivet City has Abraham Washington, but I want more characters like that. People willing to pay you in exchange for historical documents, artifacts, and other similar things. (Can you tell I majored in History? Lol)
* In a similar vein, I want more factions based off thematically historical groups. Just spitballing here, Fallout Kentucky. Base a group of slavers out of Ashland, and base a group of abolitionists out of Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace.
* Some guy in the Commonwealth who claims to represent the British Empire, who has an army of (like, 3) synths/robots who just spout the recordings from the Museum of Freedom. If you tell him you are with the Minutemen, he will attack you. Quirky, but fun at the same time.
* A Soda Shop vendor. I’m actually trying to make this one work, but I have never made a mod before so it is slow going lol. I’m gonna try to build him his own shop and quests and stuff. I will add to this post if I actually end up making it.
Personal ideas on how to improve FO4's story and DLC!
Base story: Make the Railroad a hard to find minor faction. Turn the Gunners into an actual encroaching military with Quincy being the regional capital. Preston leads an existing Minutemen faction trying to have the Commonwealth remain sovereign and the Sole Survivor is just a foot soldier. Get rid of all the FEV and infiltration stuff of the Institute, but keep the striping abandoned places for scrap and killing passerbys and the slavery, but gain the ability to change stuff. The BoS doubles down on the racism and targets The Slog early on and Goodneighbor near the beginning of the third act, having you partake in a massacre. Super Mutants are explicitly Vault 87 mutants, confined to a small band in the glowing sea.
Automaton: in the final dungeon, have multiple ways through. Computer terminals at expert and master disable bots in a section. A high intelligence/science let's you go through the doors you need a bot companion for. The holotapes should be a bypass to the master encryption terminal, if you remember to backtrack, rather than a second lock so you have to fight a large dungeon to skip a second dungeon and do it peacefully.
Also make it so the robobrain transformation makes otherwise peaceful protesters violent in accordance to the military.
Contraptions/Wasteland Workshop: fuse the two and charge $2.50 for it. Reinstitute the Combat Zone as an arena, or just a building zone.
Far Harbor: Fallout 5. Give us back FNV's skills and dialogue (and moral writing and writing quality and reputation and actually just remaster FNV with the gameplay improvements from 4 please) and flesh this out into at least a smaller spin-off like Dead Island Riptide was. A few Children of Atom followers, another Far Harbor follower, and an Acadia follower alongside Nick.
Vault Tec Workshop: honestly? Just remove the raid threat to the Vault.
Nuka-World: The Problem Solver/Splattercannon can't be obtained until after the park is cleared entirely. If you don't balance distribution effectively, after the powerplant the two remaining major gangs undergo a civil war, with the less-supported gang turning hostile. If you go entirely Operator one gang, they claim the plant and destroy the other two, their leaders' locations being the last place to look. Open Season should give you a perk too (Most Dangerous Game Hunter: -10% damage from raiders and +25% damage to raiders?). Also, able to talk to Preston, Maxon, Desdemona, or Shaun (or y'know, Gunner Faction Head) to get a small army to take them on before any parks are cleared
Alright, hear me out on this...
Holiday season is around the corner. Assuming they still celebrate holidays in the post apocalypse universe of Fallout, I present a beverage idea suited for it.
You still with me?
Bit of a jump but felt this older work I made would fit better for this prompt and didn’t want to wait. HauntedWasteland23: Oct.13th:Echoes out of time.
Imagine you were a famous singer in the pre war. You had it all: your music, fanbase, money, looks, etc. then the nuclear apocalypse destroys all of that but rather than just perishing and only the music you made will be remembered. You ghoulify still losing all you held dear. You have no money that’s worth anything, your looks and voice are gone, all who adored you either died or wouldn’t even recognize you. Worst of all is the radio and publicity you had. Going around in the wasteland hearing your old voice on the radio. Seeing tour dates with your handsome face in view. I wish if we get a shortly after the Great War fallout we could see something like this. Like I love Raul and all but he’s the only character I remember that has that kind of story. I think a singer would be a great challenge for a character to help them find purpose or put him out of his misery
Don't you sometimes wish the Triggermen were a more prominent faction?
Like I have only seen them in two places and only one of those places have hostile triggermen. well maybe the warehouses but that's it basically.
Imagine if the triggermen were more important to the world of fallout 4.
You mainly have the raiders and gunners outside and a few areas in boston, but the triggermen are mostly found in the city itself
Have them hosting fights in abandoned warehouse to gamble on, stopping you in some parts of the city for a "toll" to travel safely through their territory, Have them ambush you like raiders.
Imagine if there were ranks of these triggermen based on real mob hierarchy. Different sub groups like skinny malone's crew who are highway men, Marowski's drug cartel, and maybe one run by a prewar ghoul. Especially since the submachine gun can be very hard to get past at early parts of the game, these men can seem like a challenge at times. Of course they are only wearing fancy clothes so they die quicker, but I'd still thought it'd be cool.
I hope if we get a fallout Chicago we can get more use out of the mobsters and see more fleshed out gangs that although similar to raiders(much like the gunners kind of were) would be a nice change of face.
